My weekends in February are fairly free so far. Would any of those work for those that are interested?

I would love to find the Valley of the Ice Grotto! Maybe we could get a group together.

Over a mile walk along a deer trail and bushwhacking and only a T 1.5? Sounds like a good cache though.

I have been surprised by the cachers who said that they didn’t go back and give favorite points to the caches before the point system started. I suppose I haven’t been around as long but I was excited to go through my finds and dole out the favorite points. But I think you’re right that the older caches aren’t awarded favorite points from many of the past finders.

                      Ooh, pretty lights! 😉

May not really be useful but I do like stats. These is definitely a more fun way to look at this information than bar graphs. Not surprising at all that the biggest area of caches are in the high population areas.

I do give out my favorite points when I like a cache, either for the view, location, interesting container, interesting information, etc. I like to give thanks to the people that take the time to place quality caches. Because I am not a power cacher, I don’t have tons of finds and extra favorite points. I also tend to mostly go looking for the more interesting ones so it can be hard to feel like I have enough points to give out.

I wish I could go to that event but the kids have a school thing I have to go to. Hopefully there won’t be too much snow on the ground, that could make Lakeshore more difficult. I can always send you my number if you want a PAF. There are very limited choices for hiding in that park so I did what I could to get one in there.
