Beccaday would happily go to Harrington Beach! 😉
Oh the woes of the short geocacher!
That is my suggestion, to divide it up by quadrant. My suggestion is to find, oh, maybe 30 total with at least 5 in each quadrant to sign the log on the challenge cache.
And then I’d love to see the WGA make up a pathtag with the state parks series logo (if we ever get one) on it. Then people could purchase it, maybe even wear it like a pin, if they are interested. Or maybe just a seperate one that the WGA would give out to anyone who found them all? The problem with that, though, is that it would be very expensive to buy them initially and then just hang on to them for the years it will take many to finish them all.

The BOD has been talking about putting out a challenge cache. We just haven’t been able to decide what the challenge and/or prize should be. Thoughts?

Hello and welcome to the obsession *ahem* I mean hobby of geocaching. I’m glad you found your way over to the WGA so early, it’s a great place to ask questions when you’re starting out. I live in Waukesha so we aren’t too far apart. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

That looks like a happy cache.

Think they’ll let me scribble in crayon?
Don’t you have a geocaching marker? Seriously? 😀
Well, I do like to color with crayons, it’s one of the best things about my job! 8)
Looks like Bad Robot is likely going to be the winner!!!!! Happy dance! I guess it pays to be bad.

Good luck with your adventure! Wish I could help but I don’t own any land in the area.

Excellent! Can’t wait to go! If memory serves, this is close to the dog swimming beach. Way to go Hacks!
And I look forward to finding the other ones too!

I don’t think I ever buy my stickers before April, as nearly every property I visit is unattended on the weekends during the winter. The exception would be Lapham Peak, and most of the time I’m hiking into there along the IAT. As I’m driving my 18 year old truck which is only on its 3rd windshield, I have lots of old stickers, so I think I sometimes get a pass from the rangers. (unfortunately, it is starting to affect visibility with all the stickers…)
Razor blades work nicely for getting those old ones off. 😆 😆 😆

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve borrowed my husband’s car to save money on gas on my many trips to Pike Lake to do maintenance on the Dr. Seuss caches, only to remember once I’d gotten there that he doesn’t have a sticker. I finally broke down and bought one for his car. They were nice and said they’d believe me that I had one on my other car and they only charged me half price for the second one.

More likely to have a carload of Minnesotans at Willow River.

Many of the state parks also do a 1 hour pass, which is $4. $5 for the day, or $25 for the year. Personally, I think that’s well worth it as we visit these parks a lot, but that’s for everyone to decide for themselves.

How exciting! I’ve hidden two and found one. I look forward to finding more.
