I’m relieved it’s over. I don’t like caching because I feel obligated. I like caching because I want to!

But alas, the BOD don’t usually get a lot of time for caching at the WGA events so probably not. Besides, I have gotten it into my head that on Sunday I will be looking for GC62B0 before heading home.

Did you move? That cache is not on the way home!

Well….it’ll be the long, scenic way home.

What an awesome log! Now I wish I could go do that cache.

The Fall Picnic would be an excellent time…fall colors usually peak in that area by the end of September…and that is an absolutely awesome spot to soak them in 8)

My name was originally on this park but then I took it off as I’d already hidden two, to give more people a shot at hiding them. It had been my intention to do so, hopefully whoever else signs up for it will do this.

Wow, I have heard many people brag about REI’s return policy. Now that they don’t have this, I’m not sure they’re going to get the same business. Thanks for the heads up.

Did you really? LOL! I was surprised to see that big jump all of a sudden. I thought that Bad Robot was stuck rusting somewhere.

I am working on GC1GVN6. I have 60 done and 21 to go….but it is not easy finding the oldies that fit the grid spaces I need. I will have to travel…but it will be well worth it!

What do you have left? I have 10 of them and have dug up the caches for them, just need friends for the adventures! 8)

My list is at home, but a lot of what I still need is the higher terrain. The only difficulty I have completely done is 2. I’ll look when I get home from Chicago. What 10 do you need?

I’ve never understood that challenge. Could someone explain it to me in English? It sounds like simply filling in your d/t grid with caches that were published before October 2008, and you must have found all 9 types of caches, again published before 10/08, and then something about cheese that I couldn’t understand even after reading it several times. Plus some people’s d/t grids that they uploaded don’t sort anything by date so it seems like the 2008 rule I might not have the correct understanding.

There are several things that have to happen, but the biggest part of this challenge is to find a D/T for every combination on caches that were published 10/03/2008 or before. It is a challenging, but very fun challenge.

Oh that’s right, I may not have met this challenge. I kind of thought that figuring out the date on all of mine was going to be too much work. Also, I’m not convinced that having them placed by a certain time guarantees the “correct” D/T rating.

We ended up doing everyday, not so much because I “had to have” the souvenir, although they helped for some challenges, but because an excuse/challenge to get out and cache was not going to be left unanswered. Ironically, to finish our 31 days, we found the final for the Cheesy WRC while out playing in the forest. 😆

I already meet the challenge but I’m always up for adventures with friends. 8)

Say please? 😆 Walking Adventure has those labels so just send him a PM. And if doesn’t respond you could try public humiliation.

We ended up getting 8 of them. we did not change the way we cache, don’t really care about them

I actually cached less to avoid them when possible. I think I’ve only got 4 so far and wish I could make it 0. I actually avoided reaching my 2K milestone this month simply because I didn’t want this useless crud attached to the milestone day.

The devaluation of the whole concept just grinds on me. This seems to cater to the changing demographics of the game though. It’s all about the numbers, stats, etc. and no longer about the experience.

Ahh…but keep on your to do list such caches as GC1G6CV and GCRN4J and GC7DA….

I am working on GC1GVN6. I have 60 done and 21 to go….but it is not easy finding the oldies that fit the grid spaces I need. I will have to travel…but it will be well worth it! Pretty sure the 21 I have left will each have their own adventure….which is better than a souvenir any day!

And yes, I did do a cache a day in August so I got the souvenirs….perhaps I can sell them on Craig’s List some day!

I’ve done all 3 of those and they were all really fun caches. One of my favorite early caching memories was sending Hack1of2 up that tree for the Capture the Flag flag. Good times!

If you get one let me know how you like it. We can only fit 4 in our canoe and so all 5 of us can’t go together. I’d like to get a second smaller canoe or kayak.

                                  Congratulations! That’s quite an accomplishment!

So now that you’ve found caches from all of the times that caches were placed….what’s your opinion? Are the oldies always the best? What is/was the prime caching placement time?
