and the medical saga of BigJim continues. I got a thorn in my left hand about 7 weeks ago. Tried to remove it, but it broke off. Three weeks ago I went to urgent care, but was referred to orthopedics. Yesterday was my appointment with ortho. Doc set me up for surgery today. He thinks he completely removed the foreign body. so now I’m sitting here with a numb left hand, typing one-handed.
That’s weird, Jim. Did you eat or drink anything different? Glad they could help you, though.
Nope. ER Doc was pretty sure that it was not an allergic reaction. I’ve never had an allergic reaction to anything and I didn’t have exposure to anything that I haven’t been exposed to many times before. He said it can be genetic, but the test results for that still haven’t come back (the intern ordered the wrong test the first time, so it had to be re-done). He also said that in many cases like this they never do find out the cause.
Good night :ftp:
But that Santa .gif That’s just wrong.
Well that was a strange turn of events. Woke up Saturday morning and notice a bit of swelling in my tongue. Not thinking too much about it, I went out hunting for about 3 hours. By the time I, came in, my tongue had swollen to the point where it was affecting my speech. Went to Urgent Care, who sent me to ER. By this time my tongue was about 3 times its normal size. ER Doc put me on IV fluids and fresh frozen plasma and gave me shots of benadryl and steroids, then sent me upstairs for observation. Over night the swelling went down and my tongue returned to normal size.
Took today off of park-n-grabbing to get some other things done. I’ve got the remaining caches divided into 5 sections that I can cover in about an hour each. I’m in no hurry. I showed the geoart to the 4th grade social studies teacher, especially the ones with the County puzzles. She was pretty excited about the possibility of using the puzzles to teach about the counties.
It doesn’t fit in a pre-form, and that’s all I’ve been finding lately 😉

Nuh uhn. Actually, I didn’t get those at first, then I got a nudge from Rib Ticklers, who are much better at puzzles than me. I don’t want to post any spoilers here, but PM me if you need some help with these.
For #30, take $5 plus the cost of the bison raffle.
Just 3 inches or so in the geo-art area.
On #26, there are two items that use the number of new caches hidden for the 2015 geopicnic. I found a couple references to Lostcheq hiding new caches for the event, but not the number.
FTP for Sunday
There have been a few caches in Powers Bluff, however, because of the significance to the Native American community, the county parks dept. has closed this park to geocaching.
I got mine on Saturday.
FTP for Sunday.
