I was wondering the same thing. I’ve been hitting the State Parks pretty hard the last couple weeks. By my count I’m up to 20, but the list still says 7.

Might need to do another State Park Cache run tomorrow.
I’m up to 1400 miles on Baa Baa (which I’ve decided to call the loaner, since it is a black Jeep). Dealership says that I should have Big Red by Friday. If I don’t have it back by next Monday, Baa Baa is going on vacation with us to Door County. It is a fun little vehicle to drive around.
Not all of their logs are poetic. Here’s one that they recently posted on one of my caches: Ursa Minor – Kochab:
Found it07/31/2016If you are reading this, then my last desperate effort to send a message to the outside world was successful. I am the last survivor of an ill-fated expedition to unearth the lost treasure of Kochab. My food and iodine tablets ran out two days ago, and my guide and porters have left me in the night.
Having started out by the southern route, the folly of our choice soon became obvious. My companion turned back to safety and wished me luck on my journey. How I wish now in my exhaustion and delerium that I had followed her example and abandoned the quest then.
Instead I forged ahead, heedless of the heat and the flies – headlong into the thickets. At night, I could hear drumbeats and the pacing of wild animals, calling to mind the legend of Mbwuun, the Monster of the Mead. At times, in my malarial fogs I imagine I can smell his goatish foulness just off the trail.
Making the last miles on my own, I reached the reported location of the treasure, only to find it missing. However, a careful search of the area using the last of my strength resulted in the final bitter success of my quest. Alas, I have no one with whom to share my success, and there is little hope of making it out alive in my current condition. I replaced the treasure back where it belonged, and I now look to the north as I begin my futile march back to civilization. There is a remnant of an ancient trail. It is likely there where you will find my scattered remains.
To the world at large, I bid you a fond and final farewell.
Eternally yours,
Mr. RT12 hour bump.
Bump!
I used to really like the COTM but in the area I live now, I don’t hear much about it. But I did just notice that the winner in my “zone” last month is in this cool little park/zoo that I visited once a few years ago. I only did one cache in the park so the rest is wide open for finding. Hmmm…maybe it’s time to revisit?
There are a couple cachers in the area that have been putting out some really nice caches. Check out the caches from tapmews and reloader54494. Reloader has a LOT of park and grabs, but a few quality caches sprinkled in there.
I try to nominate at least one cache a month, but I think sometimes mine is the only vote cast.
Getting a Jeep is not a bad thing, Jim. Jeep’s are fun…hope you have a blast with it
I am having fun with it. Yesterday I took a 450 mile trip to find 4 caches: Mill Bluff State Park, Wyalusing State Park, Nelson-Dewey State Park, and Belmont Mound State Park. Wyalusing and Nelson-Dewey also gave me two Delorme pages that I needed.
It just gets worse. They found the problem, a seized lift pin. Because the truck is under an extended warranty – 10 years unlimited mileage, engine and drive train – they have to send pictures to Chrysler. The pictures have to be very specific and the only person qualified to take the pictures, the shop foreman, is on vacation for the rest of the week. They gave me a 2016 Jeep Renegade with 2500 miles on it for a loaner. Going to do some WGA State Park Caches. Tomorrow is Wyalusing and Nelson-Dewey.
Just got off the phone with the “Service Coordinator.” When I talked to her on Thursday she told me that the lead technician, Ricky, was taking a vacation day on Friday, so nothing could be done until Monday. She told me that she had blocked off Monday and Tuesday for him to do nothing but work on my truck. Today she told me that Ricky called in on Monday with a family emergency, and she had him working on some other vehicles that they had to get out on Tuesday. What happened to having two days blocked off just to work on my truck? I explained to her that this was unacceptable and that I expected Ricky to be working on my truck today and tomorrow if needed and that nothing else should take priority over that. Now, after 9 days, she weakly offered me a loaner vehicle, if she can “round one up.” Never going there again.

Is it too much to ask that they just keep me informed about what they are doing? This makes 9 days that they have had my truck.
Called the dealership this afternoon to find out where they are on Big Red. Got the service adviser’s voice mail but she never called me back. She had better have the right answers when I call her tomorrow morning.
