Has this :ftp: really been sitting here for almost two hours?
Congrats on the grandchild, J&L. I’ve been absent from the drivel forum this week. On Sunday I found some old bottle rockets that one of my kids left in the garage. They’ve probably been there for 8 years or so. I took a few of them out in the back yard to see if they still worked. While I was out there, my wife decided to join me ansd let the dogs out, too. Our psycho rescue Sheltie, Georgia, heard one “pop” and took off. This is a dog who dislikes being outdoors. In the 4 1/2 years that we’ve had her, she has never left our yard, unless one of us took her somewhere. We searched for her until about 2:30 am, then resumed the search at first light (Betty did, I slept until 6:00). By the time that she had been gone for 2 days we were pretty much resigned to the idea that she was not coming back. Then On Wednesday morning I got a call from my brother-in-law that there was a dog that looked like Georgia in his yard. By the time I got there she had trotted about a half-mile down the road, but we finally recovered her, smelly, dirty, and tired, but safe.

Went out to the Blue Heron Brewpub for supper. Had the Shadowfax Blanc Wit and fish ‘n’ chips.
One more day of summer school. Then next week I start training on Chrome books.
We’re being overrun by chipmunks so I started live trapping them yesterday. Five so far. There are so many I had 2 in one trap. Never had that happen before. They were fighting in the cage. Must have been blaming each other for their predicament.
Where are you letting them go?

Got shuffled to a new resident at the Marshfield Clinic today. He’s going over my history and asking questions. He asks what I do for a living.
“I’m a teacher.”
“Oh, what do you teach?”
“Fifth-grade science.”
“Oh, you’re a science teacher. How many children?”
“Sixty-five.”
He stares at me incredulously.
“Oh, you mean MY children. I thought you were asking how many students I had.”
