Off to the Mead Wildlife Area. If you’re in the area stop by and say hello.
Wish I had a rain gauge. Rained very hard over night.
And an :ftp:
11 FTFs this afternoon. Good first day of summer vacation.
Got the OK from the boss to leave two hours early. Woo Hoo! It’s summertime!
A little late to the party, but I have to agree with those that endorsed the Eureka Timberline. I have had mine since 2003 and aside from replacing the poles after they snapped when a helicopter landed on the football field that we were camped along the sidelines, it has been a fantastic tent. I have the Timberline 4 XT. The XT has a vestibule built into the rain fly, which gives you a place to leave your muddy boots, etc. instead of bringing them in the tent with you. The 2 is probably big enough for a single camper, but I usually camp alone and enjoy the extra space in the 4 … but I’m a big guy. No, you can’t stand up inside of it, but that doesn’t really matter to me.
Hope you have a similar story in the end!
Or that it makes a good movie 😉
Is today Friday?
Yes, yes it was … at least for Auburndale students.
Today is teacher work day. As of 9:27 AM, I have all my work done and I have checked out. Unfortunately, we are contractually required to stay here until 4:00 PM. Hopefully the principal will give us the OK to vacate earlier than that … if he comes back from his son’s kindergarten graduation ceremony.
It’s pretty simple, and some may not consider it Geoart, but there is Ursa Minor on the Mead Wildlife Area GC24TVD
Saw an albino deer yesterday while mowing my lawn.
It can be frustrating. I replaced one of mine and before anyone found the replacement it was missing again. I remember when it was fresh and new and every find was amazing. I remember my first LPC – took me three visits to that parking lot before I realized that you really could hide a cache right out in the middle of the lot. I was so impressed I went home and found a lightpost to hide a cache in. Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth the effort. Then I get another log from jordan21glena and I feel the amazement of those “lame” hides all over.
Rain started here just as I was going out to mow the lawn.At least we got the garden planted yesterday.
Happy Birthday!
Don’t you hate it when the Blackhawks game is on NBCSN and you don’t get that channel and have to listen to the game on an on-line radio station?
Made the commitment to help cook for the 80 volunteer Boy Scouts and adult leaders working on the Ice Age Trail south of the Eau Claire Dells.
That’s sort of a good problem to have, too many great choices. The Scouts were probably very grateful for your skills. There are EarthCaches over there, too. Did you have a chance to do any of them?
I’ve done the Earth Caches there previously. I did manage to slip away for a few hours while the crews were out on the trail and find a few caches. Reached 4500 on a LugNut1 cache on the Ice Age Trail.
