This one I call Blue Ribbon Sunset because it won a blue ribbon at the Central Wisconsin State Fair last fall. It’s really a sunrise taken from the deck in my back yard.

Here’s one more puzzle… a photo taken on the Juneau County forest trails south of Highway 21 on County M west of Necedah. We were doing the Bucky Badger series placed by slbens:
I remember that series. I got a bunch of FTF’s there. Of course it was snow-covered when I did it. 😆
Here are some of mine:

Sea Caves open via ice hiking #1974006A co-worker id going up there this weekend. We are tentatively planning to go see the ice caves next weekend. Kind of interested in taking the ice road to Madeline Island as well.
Congratulations on 6K, WA! That’s a lot of :)’s
So if we don’t want the DNR offended by ur making a profit based on the SP caches, sell the patch/pin/hat/shirt for cost. Then if the DNR wants a cut of the profits we can honestly tell them that there is no profit.
Personally, I would steer away from shirts, mainly because of the size issue. Hats, patches, pins are all one-size items. I recently ordered two different pins for another organization. One pin cost us $1.85 apiece. The other one cost $1.35 because we ordered a higher quantity so that the set-up fee was waved. Patches can be made for a similar price.

IMHO, I haven’t been a big supporter of awarding ANYTHING to those that complete any sort of challenge in finding the SP hides. Experiencing each SP personally should be reward enough. I’m hoping that the relationship that we have initiated with the WI DNR, and THEIR support of the cache placements, is a big ‘smiley’ for the WGA. I hope it leads to more cooperative efforts with them in the future.
I agree. I don’t need an additional prize to show that I completed X SP caches. How about some challenge caches instead?
I only did three blue park n grabs on Sunday. My dermatologist told me not to go out in the cold because my skin graft would be especially susceptible to frost bite.
I got the impression that the original poster was looking for recommendations of specific caches that would be better done in winter than other seasons. To that end I will offer these:
GCZ3CD Wequiock’s Wonderful Waterfall – Not a long walk nor hard to get to in other seasons, but especially beautiful when the falls are frozen.
GC2TV7M Doe, Doe, Doe series
GCGNRY Marsh to the Philippine Islands
GC23YER Mathman 4th Anniversary – or any of the caches in “Mathman Swamp”
GC24TRB Ursa Minor – Yildun – or any of the Ursa Minor series – at the risk of promoting my own caches 😉Congratulations on 1.5K finds, Brian. Sometimes those GPSr’s get in the way of making a find, especially when the posted cords are off. 😆
Congratulations on find #4000, Rod! Yep, timing is everything.
No, but then I only have two non-traditionals; both field-solve puzzles. My #1 favorited cache is a 1/1 park and grab, magnetic key holder on a picnic table. It gets favorite points because of where it is, and how you get there.
My second is one of the puzzles. I think it gets points because of the nice walk that you take to find the coords.
#3 get its points because of the container.
4, 5, 7 & 10 are part of a series in the Mead Wildlife Area that takes you on some nice walks into areas that most people seldom go. (#4 being a nice walk when the creek is frozen, otherwise it is a nice paddle or a hike into hell).
6, 8 & 9 are popular because of what you see when you get there.
OK, I take that back. Looking at my favorites list, I count a handful of park n grabs. They got my favorite points for various reasons, but they were all more than just caches for the sake of having a cache.
I’ve given out 46% of my favorite points. Park and grabs don’t get them. Gotta be a memorable cache.
