Congratulations Pat and Mark. Looks like a fun cache. I’ll have to do that one some day.
Way to go HP!!! I had to look twice when I checked the CR list the other day.
Congratulations on these milestones, Tim. It was good seeing you at the bash, and again yesterday.
And don’t go night caching alone.
Congratulations on your 3K milestone. Great cache to milestone on. You had to love the location of the final on this series.
Congratulations on the anniversary!
Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Sherry, I can’t take credit for that butterfly. That was Anna’s creation. I just provided inspiration and supervision. I did create another, smaller butterfly pancake earlier, but sadly it was ingested without photo-documentation. I had a blast playing with food at the event. In addition to dozens of smiley face pancakes, and the 4000 cache milestone cakes for Jim&Linda, there was a dog, a dragonfly, a ladybug, and a few more. Special thanks to Barry for cranking out way more pancakes than me, so that I had time to play. Looking forward to doing it again next year.
Congrats again on the 4K milestone. I know I congratulated you in person this morning, but here it is again. And I’ll repost the picture that Sandlanders referenced here, too.

Congrats on the milestone, Jim. Looking forward to sharing another adventure with you.
Congratulations on reaching the 3K milestone, Sherry. Looks like a fun adventure, and a puzzle even a puzzle-dummy like me could solve. Too bad I don’t get to the valley much anymore, since Little Jim moved to a different valley … the Sacramento Valley.
Yeah, I suppose I could have looked at the event page 😳
I’d probably die laughing at WI_Robin beating the crap out of Zuma 😆

The other day I found a cache that I had dnf’ed in the past. The cache was a camo’ed bison tube lodged in a natural crevice in the bark of a very large, very old white pine. The bison has a history of popping out of the crevice and being found on the ground. The previous finder’s log included the following: “Found on ground. Rehide better per the way this game is suposed to be played.”
“Rehide better” in this case included carving a niche in the bark with a knife, cutting all the way through the bark to the sapwood. I can’t believe that anyone would believe that this is “the way this game is suposed to be played.”
I was sickened by this cacher’s actions. That resulted in the cacche being disabled while the container was pulled and getting desapped, and allowing some time for the tree to heal. We didn’t want people thinking that it was OK to stick the cleaned container back in the gouge. We wrote a note on the cache page as to why the cache was disabled, but I doubt if the person who really needed to read it ever saw it.
I struggled for most of a day about whether or not I should contact that individual and express my feelings about his actions. I decided not to, but it still bothers me.
The bottom line is what the CO does when he/she gets fed up with all the TFTC and 🙂 logs on their caches. We had a CO in N. Central WI not to long ago who pulled all his caches for this very reason. Without COs hiding and maintaining caches, Groundspeak doesn’t have a game to administer.
Sorry Ralph … couldn’t resist 😆 I agree with you totally. While it is exciting to see more and more people playing the game, it is sad to see that many don’t share our viewpoints on how the game should be played.
