Maybe it is time for that letter writing campaign
Congratulations on the milestone Ralph.
Congratulations Pete. Nice choice for a milestone cache.
My goals for 2011 are to reach 2000 finds, to add at least a couple states (I’ve only cached in Wisconsin so far), to complete the Wisconsin Rustic Roads Challenge, and to host an event.
Apparently there is nothing to do in North Central Wisconsin, as there has been nothing posted here since the thread was created 21 months ago.
If you are in Central Wisconsin, you really should visit the Mead Wildlife Area. Wisconsin’s second-largest wildlife area, Mead covers over 33,000 acres. If the visitor center is open (Mon-Fri 8:00 am – 4:00 pm / Sat and Sun 11:00 am – 3:00 pm in May – Oct) stop in to see this magnificent facility. The center has LEED Platinum certification for energy efficiency. There are 5 renewable energy systems, including: Wind, Photovoltaic, Solar water heating, Geothermal, and wood biomass heat. For birders, there are 267 species that inhabit or migrate through the Mead. Fishing, canoeing, and kayaking are available on the Little Eau Pleine River. In season hunters find plentiful game, including bear, deer, coyote, fox, upland birds, waterfowl, and small game. There are 70 miles of hiking trails, and a great bike trail (open May 15 – Sept. 1). On the eastern side of the Mead, off County Hwy O, is an area dedicated to dog training. On Smokey Hill Road is an elevated, handicap-accessible wildlife observation platform.
Oh, and there are several geocaches placed in and near the Mead property. 8)
Thanks for posting that link.
Hey MuggleB! Don’t forget to hide some caches back in your old stomping grounds in Central Wisconsin 😀 I look forward to racing your dad for the FTFs 😆
Congratulations on your milestone.

WGA Picnic September 17? Where?
Silly question, south of Hwy 64 of course….
Well that narrows it down 😆 How did this thread turn from the race to the picnic?

In case ya didn’t notice, one of the caches that initiated this thread was recently force-archived. But at least the local geocommunity didn’t have to go pick up the geo-litter (this time, anyway)…
Not exactly. If you’re talking about the same one as I am, it was a multi, and the first stage is still out there. I would have gone and picked it up, but the high water levels in Honey Island Flowage prevented me from doing so.
Welcome back Team Everest. While you’re in the caching mood, there’s a glass jar in the Mead Wildlife Area with your name on it that needs to be removed.
Biting my tongue … er … fingers
I agree, I don’t see much value in a hall of fame.

I’ll try just giving you the address to paste into your browser. Santa brought me a whole bunch of geocaching-related stuff but this one is just so fun I had to share.
