Oh, I agree. My post may have been over-simplified. I do take D/T and cacher experience into account. If there are several DNF’s by inexperienced cachers, I’d be more likely to believe that the cache may still be in place.

I mentioned this on FB, but I’ll put it here, too. As administrator for the LCG and CR, I have several notifications set for archived caches, that cover almost all of the state. There are a couple gaps between areas, which are sparsely populated with caches. When I get a notification, I look at the cache page to determine whether or not I feel a CR is justified. If the CO archives the cache, I generally assume that they have removed the cache, unless they post something to indicate otherwise. I also look at recent logs. Numerous DNF’s usually indicate that the cache is no longer at GZ.

Here’s the problem with this: if a CO just quits the game, who is going to put them up for CR? We just GC22PT8_the-lost-civilization-of-delhi?guid=03234488-bfdc-4584-91aa-baf24fddde88″>lost GC2GBNB_the-eureka-moraine?guid=85e9ecd0-7e99-42a6-a8a4-5a34ba20929d”>6 GC1ZMT1_wrr-nominee-brown-deer-ct?guid=212be281-f62f-4690-92b0-2c2bd91e575d”>or so caches to archive within my 30 mile notification radius. The look like great caches, and I hated to see them archived, but the CO said they are no longer active. I guess I have LTF on the last one I linked to. No notice from the CO if he pulled the caches or just archived them. I don’t know if he was ever active on here to post a request for a CR either. Then what do we do? This has been my biggest concern about CRs in general.

Anyone can submit a CR mission for any cache. If it’s not your cache, be sure to explain why you think that a CR is needed in the notes section. Then it goes to the adminstrator(s) (just me right now).

New superintendent this year. No late starts/early releases when other schools have been. No snow days yet either.

We haven’t had a late start in at least 15 years. We’re controlled by the bus company. Too many drivers have jobs that they go to after their morning route, so they can’t drive if there is a delay. Somehow, though, they have been able to get enough drivers for an early dismissal on a few occasions.

It’s about 50 here and people are talking about ā€œhow coldā€ it is. Perspective.

I was in Augusta, Georgia in the early 90’s, during one of the coldest periods ever. Lows got down to the teens and highs were in the mid-30’s. The day we left the temperature was in the 40’s, and I forgot to write down the mileage when I returned the rental car. I ran out the the car sans jacket, andĀ  the attendant there thought I was crazy.

We got about 7 inches here. It stopped about 4:30 and the clouds cleared and the sun came out for a few minutes before it set.Ā  Got the solar panels cleared and the driveway plowed. Now I need to write lesson plans for this week.
