Didn’t quite get up to 32 today.
FTP For Thursday. Hoping it warms up enough to melt the ice off the solar panels today.
Glad I don’t have to worry about salting a sidewalk. Nothing but ditches along our road.
I am a teacher. We have to adapt every day. You never know what the day will bring: schedules change, kids misbehave, parent shows up for an unscheduled conference, lesson goes quicker than planned, lesson takes longer than planned, colleague needs help with something …
I live in Auburndale, very near the geographical center of the state, and very near the WGA Geoart. In the past my attendance at WGA events has been limited by my involvement with Scouts. Since I have stepped back from almost all of my scouting commitments, I am much more available for WGA events. I will most likely attend all or most WGA events this year, whether elected or not.
As long as the trailer doesn’t need to be inside. I have a pole shed, but it is full. Other assets can stay in the basement.
I like to find caches that are there and well-maintained. I don’t mind P&G’s, I just get bored doing miles and miles of sign-posts and guard rails. If I do 25 or 30 in a day, that’s plenty. I like caches that take me somewhere interesting, whether that is driving up to a giant dragon sculpture made out of junk (OK, that’s one of mine) or a hike across a frozen swamp with a group of friends. I also appreciate caches that the CO has put a lot of creativity into making unique. What I don’t like is when a CO drops a cache somewhere and never goes back to check on it, even when there have been multiple “Needs Maintenance” logs posted.
Haven’t seen a double post in a while 😉
Now it is coming down. It started out as rain, turned to sleet and now it is snow.
FTP for a snow-day Monday. So far, no snow.
As a public school teacher for the past 19 years and a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America for the past 25 years, I am accustomed to life in the fish bowl. I’m fully aware of the need to follow the same code of conduct in public as in private.
Carpe :ftp:
Just in time for tomorrow’s snow storm.
Well, I have been that guy standing over the hot grill, cooking pancakes at 3 or 4 West Bend pancake breakfasts. Nobody ever asked me about my qualifications (ServeSafe trained, though I have not kept up my certification). I believe that if someone offered to help, I would ask about their experience, qualifications, and what their preferences are. I’ve been in the position before of being asked to do a job that I was overqualified for, while less-qualified people were doing the tasks that I should have been assigned to. It doesn’t make you feel good about volunteering, or want to return. Matching people to the right jobs is important, but I can usually find something for everyone to do. Barry, you can flip pancakes with me any time.
So let me see if I got this right … anything and everything can be on the way if I make my loop big enough … is that right?
