I’m going to a workshop in Lake Geneva on the 27th. Think I may stop at one of the Australia Day events on my way home. There’s one in Janesville and one in Madison.
There’s also one in Green Bay, but that’s enough shameless self promotion from the event host.
Yeah, but Green Bay isn’t between Lake Geneva and Auburndale.

As new platforms and channel become available, the old ones lose favor. As my circle of “friends” on Facebook expands, I find that it take too much time to scroll through my newsfeed. For that reason I have put a time restriction on my Facebook time. I don’t have a simple answer for the best way to proceed, except to listen to the membership and try to accommodate their wishes.
A strength I have is being able to put aside personal feelings and working as part of a team. A weakness that I have is that I tend to get wrapped up in something and let other things slide, though I’ve been able to find more balance of late.
I’ve been geocaching since Nov. 2009 and became a member of the WGA shortly after that. I have had some experience on other boards. I served on the board of directors for Samoset Council, BSA for five years and the Friends of the Mead and McMillan Wildlife Areas for eight years. I was secretary for the Friends for seven of those years.
As for skills, I make a pretty good pancake.
I consider patience to be one of my greatest strengths. I’m an analytical person, so I strive to fully understand a situation before making judgements and decisions.
I believe that a board member should be present as a representative of the WGA, regardless of the type of event. They should be there to provide information, to encourage and educate, but mostly to listen to the concerns and suggestions of the attendees. Of course the WGA and WGA sponsored events require the board members to play additional roles as hosts and facilitator.
We take polls on cache of the month. Shouldn’t be too different than that.
We should take a poll to see if people want to have polls on the site.

Wow! Almost up to 30 degrees today. A heat wave!
Happy New Year everyone! We had -15 on our thermometer this morning. It’s up to -3 now.
Who hasn’t cached on Christmas day yet? I know I crossed that day off my calendar a few years back.
Geocaching is not normally a part of my Christmas tradition, but I did find 3 caches on Christmas day in 2011. Daughter was fresh out of college and working nights at the hospital. Son was working in Appleton, so after they both left for the day, Betty and I made a run to Stevens Point for an FTF opportunity.
Oh, and :ftp: for page 864
I’m glad that Packer Fans who don’t remember the years B.F. (before Favre) finally get to experience what most football fans experience at least some years. Remember Lynn Dickey, Don Majkowski, Randy Wright, David Whitehurst, Jim Zorn, and Blair Kiel?
We have about 4 or 5 inches on the ground, and a light snowfall coming down at the moment.
