Red Rock Canyon would be my recommendation as well. Beautiful area. Just keep an eye out for the wild burros in the road 😀
Way to go Dick and Gwyn! I know you have been wanting to complete this challenge for a while now. Congrats on your accomplishment.

So, which do you prefer? The multitude of film cans in pine trees for which Appleton is famous? Or a breath mint container wedged into a crevice of a shelter for which La Crosse is becoming famous for?

Hah, is La Crosse famous or infamous for those hides? Not sure that I prefer either. I do have to say we were getting pretty good at finding the micros in the trees in short order though. Got tougher once it was dark. Fortunately we didn’t have to find any mint strip containers.
Thanks everyone. GeoCantrell is living in Green Bay now so we decided we needed to do a caching trip there. The 200 finds was something we said we wanted to try but didn’t really think we would get. Especially with the great weather we ended up with. But after some long days we were able to pull it off. Getting to 1000 was a nice additional bonus to keep me going. I won’t be doing this again any time soon (well, never say never) and if I don’t see another camo film can in a tree or a bush I won’t shed a tear 😀
I am not a high volume poster here but I can’t help myself from jumping in and stirring the pot a bit more . What if we take the whole event logging issue another step? Why is “attending” something allowed to be counted as a cache “find” along with all the actual geocaches you have found? In my mind finding a benchmark is much more analogous to finding a cache than attending an event, but you do not get a “find” added to your totals for a benchmark. So why should an event be counted as a find? Wouldn’t it make sense for them both to be treated in the same manner? If they were, the whole issue of multiple attended logs really wouldn’t have any significance. Of course gc.com would need to make a change and that most likely isn’t happening.
Having said that, personally I don’t care how people want to log their events and I am sure folks can make numerous arguments as to why attending events should count as finds. I just thought I would throw this out there as food for thought. And before everyone checks my profile, no I do not have any events logged, nor have I attended any at this point. However, when I do, I will post a note on the event and not claim a “find”. If I need another find I will just go out and, well, find one.
This is all just my opinion so if you don’t like this idea, please feel free to ignore it and play the game how you choose to. I doubt it will impact anyone else one bit. I know I will keep on playing no matter what. 😀
Congratulations on the big 1K milestone! At the rate you guys are going you will hit 2K before I ever get to 1K. Keep on having fun.

Activated a couple of them and I see that the large WI coin and the micro egg both have the same icon. Weren’t the micro coins also supposed to have their own icon? Just curious.
On the Caches Along a Route page you should be able to click the name of the route to open it up and there you will see a delete button. Just click that to get rid of it. That works for me.
I see the order page mentions that orders are being prepaid so the amount of coins to order is known. Will there be enough coins ordered so the coins will have a custom icon? Just curious.
Looks great! I will definitely be getting some.
Ha! You have to get up pretty early in the morning to snag those FTF’s. And no, there was definitely no handling of others units going on.
Maybe it’s just me, but this thing sounds like it was put together by someone that heard about caching but never really did it. Of course I could be way off base. Are any of the WGA La Crosse area cachers involved in this?
This is cool. Thanks to Zuma and Da Bloodhound for putting this out. I knew getting all the counties while I did the Delorme would come in handy.
10/02/2007 at 12:40 am in reply to: Now taking Reservations for the WI_Robin Personal Geocoin #1876532I recently received the 6 coin set and they are great. However, I have one little problem. I am unable to retrieve activation codes for the 3 large WI shaped coins from thecachingplace.com. I get an error that the tracking numbers do not exist. The egg shaped micro coins all worked fine. I have sent a couple of emails to the cachingplace but no response. Has anyone else had trouble getting the activation codes for these coins? I can’t believe I got the only three coins that don’t work.
Hey thanks. It was a long trip but a good time. I managed to snag the last 31 pages I needed this weekend. Now I just need to get the coords to the final and make one last road trip. Looking forward to the final. Not so sure I am looking forward to another road trip quite yet though. 😆
