Check out our Wiki page Hiding a Cache. There you will find a link to the new DNR cache permission form and links to pages where you hopefully can find the land manager you need.
While we’re worrying about plants that we encounter, don’t forget about Wild Parsnip.
You’re horseback riding and use your higher perspective to notice great hiding locations.
Or, you drive 5 hours in a spring wind/snow/rainstorm to “camp” (I wimped out of original plans) and stand outside in the rain for two days just to be able to talk to other people that understand your obsession. (At least the 5 hours back home had better weather.)
*Julie* Schaller. Her (and her kids’) geoname is loumag.
She’s one of my geo-children. I’m so proud. 😀
If decrepit doesn’t get to it, I’ll try to swing by there when I’m relatively nearby this Sunday.
There was a sample of a decon container at the Saturday registration table. I guess we need to make it more obvious.
Julie (LouMag) is my geo-child. Our kids were in Destination Imagination together and when we had time to kill in Stevens Point last year during the DI tournament I, of course, went geocaching. She came along, got hooked and taught geocaching at the Chippewa Falls Middle School this year in an after-school program. When UW-Barron contacted me this winter about this class, I passed it on to someone who can actually teach. I’m sure she’ll run a great class.
Hmmm. I’m tired of typing so much. I think I need to shorten mine. Suggestions?

I wouldn’t consider that a simple solution. I will not use IE unless I *absolutely* have to and I would not consider this one of those cases.
The solution, in my mind, is that the site should work with Firefox/Mozilla.
I don’t know if this is of help for SNAs but it is great for other DNR areas. Try it.
http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/facilities/dnr_lands_mapping.htmlMy laptop only has USB but I do have the adapter and drivers installed. I also have the round Garmin cable, if you’re referring to the one used for the Garmin V.
For anyone planning a Memorial Day weekend visit, the Chippewa Valley Conventions & Visitors office will be open.
No waypoint information will be available until the contest’s official start date – which I believe is May 1, but I could be wrong. At that point, all info on the contest will be available from the Chippewa Valley Convention and Visitor website: http://www.chippewavalley.net
The caches may not all be in place, even, until the official start. I know mine aren’t.
As to the availability of a waypoint file from the website, I don’t know if they will be doing this.

Thanks. My son, swlumkin, is tired of is name (being 15 years old). I’ll tell him he has a deadline.
Well, maybe not *all* caches will become permanent caches, so you won’t necessarily get a smiley for *every* one you find. I know one of mine is too close to an existing cache (although on the other side of a body of water). The contest should still be worth the find, anyway.
