I have three out in the field. One has already made it through a winter. It isn’t a frequently visited cache so the locks haven’t had to be opened a closed a lot, but it has survived and I’ve never had a damp cache complaint on it.
I started geocaching because I thought it would be a fun excuse for being outside with my kids – Ben and Becca – hence, bnb. Since then, Ben has taken his own geoname.
Sorry, the first one I thought of up here, you’ve already found. (Henry Aaron’s Evil Urban Micro.) I’ll think some more.
So far none for me or my daughter. However, since we continued our journey by train the next day, we left behind our PI clothes and my shoes. So, our exposure will not be complete until I get back home and wash those.
Thanks for the pictures, Jeff!
Don’t salute me at all. Cachew did all the work. I worried on the way out that one of the other girls would get injured (since twice they fell off their bikes) and I would not be able to help with a carry out. (I have since tried with my own 62 pound daughter and decided I could do a short, level hike but nothing like a uphill hike that Cachew did).
I think it is worth noting that when we passed Hanging Chad, Cachew walked back to the location of the cache to show Sarah what the cache looked like. I know that if I had been carrying someone I would not have been so accommodating to retrace my steps.
The most ironic part of this journey is that when we went out it was with the intent to do some “easy” caches. Just goes to show that the cache is not always what you think it will be.

Gee, I sure am glad I only have to travel 238 miles one way in my ever-efficient Suburban.

Brian was referring to a post in the Board forum. A post was made there, quoting and agreeing with MB.

Do you have something in mind? I know that the Minnesota Geocaching Association does a time-trial with orienteering punches that I think would be very entertaining but do you know of other GPS games we could do?

Thanks for posting this. When we placed a lot of caches at Lake Wissota it was to hopefully keep people spread out and to possibly reduce the trampling of the environment. The park ranger was concerned about trails forming. However, from some of the complaints I heard, I know that some players didn’t play by these rules of etiquette, thereby lessening the enjoyment of the hunt for many. Perhaps this was because they felt the need to rush to find all the caches, or maybe they didn’t understand that one should step back and let a team finish their find before starting their own search.
Thanks again. Sometimes what we think is obvious isn’t obvious to others. I’m sure I’ve been unknowingly inconsiderate in my 47 years and had I known so, would have acted in a different way.

I have responded to yuppers. I’ve never run a geocaching class but wouldn’t mind trying. I’d really like some advice from those that have done it a lot.
And yes, you are good at volunteering others.
I believe Flushingrouse and Hotdogs are at #850 and I have #839 reserved in case I can make it.

Took this one while trying to look inconspicuous to muggles.

I log DNF whenever I have given it a real search and can’t find it. If I couldn’t get to the location (high water, a field of poison ivy) I don’t log the DNF but post a note about the conditions. Recently, while doing cache maintenance, I quickly looked for another cache nearby. I wasn’t properly dressed and ran out of time so I didn’t put my full effort into it. I did not log anything about this search.
As a cache owner, I prefer that people log DNF’s whenever they give their best search and can’t find it. I want to know if there’s a chance my cache is gone and will check on it as soon as possible.
One of those Geopinks is actually a “b” of bnb. My guess is that they really don’t need an extra girl in the Geopink house. (She’s next to swlumkin, who’s next to Miata – if you can find him.)
