I can bring a bag of charcoal.
Is Uncle Fun bringing three cases of water or does he just want to make sure we heard him?
I figured that, but I wanted to bring dessert.
I also wanted to nit-pick. 😛

The event page says to bring something based on your last name.
The registration says both last name and geocaching name.I’m so confused! 😕 😉

Does August 18 work out for many people for an event in Hayward?

Possibly. I don’t see anything on my calendar right now, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to convince my family to do it.

Dr Evermore and Lady EleanorThat would be my guess. The place is really cool. Not only are there some great sculptures but the store has some decent finds in it.
If you find yourself near Taylors Falls, MN, you might find Franconia Sculpture Park entertaining, as well.
I’ll second the recommendation for Al. I know him through his kids who go to my friend’s family daycare (as well as my kid). He took a bunch of kids to the UWEC ropes course for a birthday party and my daughter had a great time.
Sounds like a fun course.

So … I guess this person must have “filled in the gaps” some how and found the original container which originally went missing
Their log states “Found where it should have been.” not that they found the container itself. Still a mystery how they derived the coords if one of the major clues is missing. You did state that you removed it from the steps on St. Mary’s Hill” so perhaps that was good enough to help.
Let’s assume a cache was placed, on the ground, completely surrounded by an environmentally sensitive area. The cache owner rated it as a 5 since they expected you to suspend a rope and swing across the sensitive area to get to the cache without damaging the area. However, it is very easy to get to the cache by simply walking through the sensitive area and, probably, seriously damaging that area. Is this good placement?
A cache is placed in a tree and could be reached through the proper use of ropes – perhaps never even stepping on the branches of the tree. But, if most retrievers use the tree limbs and the tree is seriously damaged in the process, is this good placement?
I have never been to the cache in question. I do not know if this tree can withstand the affects of geocachers. I’m just offering a different viewpoint. Just because the cache owner set the D/T rating to how they preferred the finders retrieve the cache doesn’t mean that is how it will happen, especially if alternatives appear easier.
I don’t need to log them and I don’t need a contest to entice me to attend a WGA event.

I would continue to attend, but I have to admit that the favorite part of events is being able to geocache with other people – something I don’t do much of normally. Plus, the people I geocache with at events do not live anywhere near me so this is my only opportunity to do this.
However, if there were some local caches nearby to do this on, that could make up for it. The downside would be that I like being able to walk and/or bike with the people while we search.
No temps would not keep me away. I would still get to be social with my geo-friends – just not on the trail as much.

Wissota State Park is nice and currently has a few sites available for 6/1-6/3.
Thank you very much!
Yes, I’d like the informal listing of whose on which committees, including which BOD are on each. Couldn’t someone from each committee just look at their forum membership and post it?
Also, since the campout is over, I assume the campout committee is disbanded and a new one will form for next year’s campout. Is this true?
Glad to hear that.
If it was a deer tick and it has been 10 days after the bite (and long enough for the bite irritation to have healed) this un-medical opinion is that you have Lyme’s Disease.
Been there, done that, hope I’m not doing it again (pulled two embedded deer ticks off of me after Hartman.)
When my rash showed up 2 weeks after the bite, even before other symptoms showed up, my doctor put me on antibiotics. I was very glad for that since that evening I developed a 104 fever and truly felt the worst I’ve ever felt from sickness. I can only imagine how bad it would have been if I wasn’t already on antibiotics.
Don’t mess with it. Please. I have a friend who’s Lyme’s Disease went undiagnosed for three months. It took a very long time for him to recover. Please at least have it checked by a Lyme’s knowledgeable doctor.
Hope I’m wrong.
