What’s to stop someone from putting a opencache.us on top of or next too a geocache.com cache?

I know the perfect spot. Someone placed a letterbox on top of one of my caches last month, why don’t we add an “opencache” too. Of course, no permit was acquired for the letterbox. They assumed since I went through the process of the back and forth with land manager, it was O.K.

I applaud your venture, but be aware. It will annoy some of us.

I now have done about half of the caches, so I will drop my 2 pennies in:

    1. I need to say that it was clear the tickets “earned” for finding caches were for the door prizes not the cash drawing. Any complaints are the result of not paying attention.

    2. I really enjoyed the variety of caches placed. My favorites so far are “frog Pond”, “Fellenz woods”, “you’re so vain” and “Black ops” (I know that this cache was not in the pamphlet, but the people who missed it missed a great experience.) I didn’t do the water hides or the WherIgo, but it is great that they were available.

    3. The vendors were O.K, but more would even be better.

    4. I wish Toucan’s (and other businesses) would provide a coupon. Everytime I drove by there, there were plenty of vehicle travel bug decals in that parking lot. When I went there, there were at least 6 caching teams eating dinner.

    5. This was a fun event full of socializing and geocaching. Every team had the opportunity to enjoy the event the way they sought fit. I was more social, because I knew that living in the area I can make the short trip to search at my leisure.

A big thanks to all that made this happen.

I am glad they found a use for that building in October….

I was going to say that long list of actors has made a long list of terrible films.

But, if you need to escape reality for some mindless fun, I bet it will be great.

    Bridges and bus stops…..

Congrats! I new you must be getting close, because I was getting a lot of your logs on my watchlist/ “wish list”. I hope you had fun seeing all the falls.

It is funny that Sandland and western WI are complaining about the rain. Here in Milwaukee we would love some rain, this 90 degree heat with 75 dew points is getting a little brutal. I say bring on the rain.

    I have a shovel 😉

We will not be camping. I think I will stay at my parent’s cottage that weekend.

CJ, I would get very specific. I know it is not the DNR, but when I placed caches in Milwaukee County Parks I sent a picture of the exact location with my permit applications. Five acres can possess many different land features that the DNR might want to keep cache free. Just my opinion.

I sent some notification reports today via e-mail. It took the Land Manager about 4 hours to okay the caches. Pretty good in my book.
