I like the idea of cemetery caches, as long as the hides don’t intefere with gravesites themselves. I’ve found caches in them and have even hidden one myself. Cemeteries, especially the older country style ones tend to have sections near borders that offer nice hiding spots. It’s unfortunate, but vandalism and toppling of grave markers does occur, but NOT from geocaching. With a little common sense, I think we can even visit gravesites to get cache info which leads to the final cache without disruption or invasion of privacy.
Wow! Sounds like you had a close call there, Ranger Boy. Hard to believe, but my dad actually got stung on the hand, years back, while carrying in firewood from off the wood pile, in the autumn, when the temperature was below 40 degrees.
Also, use caution before sticking your hands into holes in trees, or even man-made structures, or blindly between boards on signs.
Thanks for the heads up on that one. The same caution applies to one of my caches.”Working for Dollars” .(GCNB9F)..where a critter burrowed in near where the cache is hidden. Definitely do not want to place your hands down there.

I salute both of you for that. The world needs more people helping people..never underestimate the power of that.
Could it be the Halloween nighttime cache and bash? I’ll leave that night open for it.
Just another reason to wear long pants and long sleeve shirts when geocaching.
I think it’s a great idea. Cemeteries are public places and as long as they are open, and nothing is disturbed..why not. I have one cache hidden in a small cemetery and hope to add some more.
I’ve heard of an individual cache here and there that’s been pilfered, but this is the first time I have seen ten go down like this in a general area, in a relatively short period of time, and all caches owned by the same owner.
The thought of a newbie who thought of claiming the cache as a prize had crossed my mind, but there are seven different cachers who logged the last finds of each of those caches, plus I would think that a newbie would understand how to log finds on line. The student thing isn’t a bad idea either, but for them to find “Tin Cup 3” and “Baffled” would require solving some pretty tough puzzles in order to find the exact coords for each cache. At this point, I’m not aware of any of my caches or any other caches in Racine that are missing. That could change, but I hope not.

I can verify that as well. I had noticed that Baffled & Bewildered was disabled, then a couple caches in the Cheaper by the Half Dozen series and then Tin Cup Distance 3. The latter was hard to figure since it was a well hidden ammobox in an area that isn’t visited quite often. Plus a puzzle was needed to solve in order to have the right coordinates. Then the other day, I heard from Auntienae and TamCo who were in Racine for some cachehunting, and couldn’t find CBHD-JR and CBHD-John. I went out to the site of the latter to help them find it to no avail. We later looked for a couple others, which I had previously found last winter, and they were gone. On a hunch I looked for Tin Cup Distance 1 & 2 and both were gone, and #2’s hiding place was smashed up as well. I’m convinced this was a sick, deliberate act on someone’s part, and why..who knows.

I try to tell people that I like to do more than just geocaching, but when they ask “What else do you like to do”, it takes me a while to think of something.
Congrats. Best of luck on the way to 2,000.
Congratulations on hitting the 1,000 cache milestone. Keep up the good work.
I noticed the article as well, only after I had gone cache hunting out there on Monday. Not many other people around at that time, but I guess sick crimes like that can happen anytime. The parking lot is well out of view from any of the cache sites. We were just lucky that day, I guess.
