Still off the main subject..thanks for the info..now I at least know which letterbox I found (I have about 6 now).
Back to the main subject..I think you may have some opposition to this, but I’d consider you the first finder of that cache. I don’t have a problem with that.
Funny you should mention letterboxes. I found a letterbox while searching for Crash Cache back in late March, about 150 feet south of the original coordinates (before it was moved to a drier place). I can’t find a listing for that one, but I did sign the logbook (I don’t have a stamp pad).
Not sure if this is helpful, but I did this cache on New Years day..there was no snow on the ground, but no leaves on the trees either. You’re looking for a plastic green tag (mentioned in the hints) suspended from a branch, which with full foliage would be a bit difficult to spot. I found bits and pieces of a trail throughout, and I think that at this time of the year through summer, that may be harder to see as well. If you need more help, click on my user name where I logged my find for that cache. Good luck.
I’ve had the same problem with sunlight vs my Zire-31 screen too. Ducking into the shade does help a little bit, but not much. I usually review a few things while in my car before I take off for caches.

Congratulations…to a couple of awesome cache hunters.
That’s really quite an accomplishment..congratulations.
I am totally shocked…I have never met Dennis, but have corresponded with him in the past. My heart goes out to his wife and family.
Congrats on your first 100 finds, and good luck on your journey through “The Gauntlet…”
Congratulations on your new edition.
The place where “Quarters” was hidden was the site of a bonfire, and not only were there charred remains of sticks and bark just inches from the cache, the container was exposed..I was surprised it was still even there. People looking for any kindling might have tried to take the branch I used to conceal it with. Figures..the cache is in place for two weeks without incident, and the minute it gets listed..bang! Live and learn.
Thanks John. Actually I was wondering if there were any rules against using them for geocaching purposes. I don’t own one, nor have I ever used one, but I was just curious.

any takers on metal detectors?
matchbox cars, toy animals, armymen, for boys at least. I know someone who leaves small decks of cards.

I think in a large enough ammo box, that should work just fine, in fact I have actually seen some caches devoted solely for books as well as CD’s.
