Like father..like son..keep up the good work.
Congratulations on 1,000…shows lots of hard work and dedication. Keep it up.
Congrats on 800. You folks also hide some great caches.
Congratulations on the thousand mark…you sure picked a humdinger of a cache to reach it on..congrats on the five star general also.
I agree that Cashing Outs caches are out of this world (maybe that’s why alot of us are having problems with the final cache of this series lately). The hides are quite challenging, but the scenic terrain is quite managable. Definitely worth the trip out to New Munster Marsh.
Conratulations Renee, and good luck with the “?” series.
I read the article in today’s JournalSentinel Metro section. Nice to get some good exposure for this sport. Way to go ecorangers and Auntienae.
Double congratulations for hitting the 400 mark, and for the June cache of the month. Thanks also for organizing the Mother of all Breakfasts last month.
Several factors can affect GPS accuracy such as tree cover, nearby structures, batteries going weak, and even changes in satellite signals. I think going to the site about three times and taking averages should be adequate to start out. I agree that leaving hints for difficult finds is a good idea too. If the coordinates are off by wide margins, someone will let you know. Hey, one GPS may vary slightly from another, and most of the fun is in the searching…otherwise, it would be too easy.
Way to go Jeff. Keep on truckin’
Congratulations on 900. I’ll bet you hit 1,000 in less than 2 weeks. Didn’t know your name was Jeff. Must be a good name for geocachers.
Inner City surprise depends on the time of the day you go there. If it’s in the mid morning to early afternoon, and the owner or his housemate are there, you’re good to go (make friends with the dog first).
I wouldn’t call it burnout for me. I pace myself, allowing myself certain time limits to search, or whenever I feel satified with the day’s adventures; it varies. All I know is that if I feel drained after one day, I don’t go cache hunting for a few days to a week. Then I get that hunger to go out again shortly afterwards. I also try to mix in other activities throughout the week in order to balance things out.
Nice article. Recently a friend of mine sent me another article from a newspaper (I think around Oshkosh) about geocaching. Good for public relations.
Congratulations Linus. Happy caching!
