Go to garmin.com and download the poi loader.
Run a pq and open the zip file and extract the gpx files from it and put them in a specific folder for just them.
Run the poi loader using the folder you just made.
On the 60csx click the find button and the pois you just loaded will be under the custom poi label. The custom poi symbol does not show on the unit unless you have custom pois loaded into the unit.
You can load as many caches as your memory card has space for. ( i got over 10,000 caches on mine).
And if you are feeling adventerous you can load the pq into gsak and modify the info and make your own gpx file that can show some additional information then gc’s pq would put into your 60csx.
I feel your pain Sloughfoot. I would say in the last four months 90% of my caches that have been logged has been the TFTC. It has fusterated me but I have’t said anything about it. What set me off and as my caches have problems now I am removing them and archiving. The log that pushed me over the edge was a TFTC find and then a needs maintenence log that was three lines long for a wet log with a hole in the container. This cache hadn’t been found since last fall so I don’t feel the nml was needed at that time. I hate to get rid of me caches but I don’t have much free time anymore and it seems like all the time I have is running maintenence of caches which most didn’t need anything fixed on them like the log is full and when I got to it only one side of the papers where full. Geez are people really that dumb they can’t see the other side is empty and can be used yet?

anybody else out there getting a request to sign TOU agreement for x.xxx?
(that which must not be named…)
I see on the settings page there is a link to accept but I rarely check the settings so I have no idea how long that has been there. It did not ask me too agree to it now and when I clicked on it I didn’t see anywhere to agree but then maybe I did agree along time ago and just don’t remember doing it.

Just read that folks making mention of C:Geo on the GC boards are getting vacations from the site. So I would keep any use of the program quiet…
I guess groundspeaks app that costs 9.99, has had seven updates in six months, has been downloaded between 10,000 and 50,000 times and doesn’t work all that great can’t stand the competition of c;geo that is free, works better and gets all most daily updates and has had over 250,000 downloads.
Groundspeak needs to make a reasonably priced app that works instead of trying to be a dictator and tell everyone what they can and can’t use.
They need to keep in mind who is spending their money and time at their website and even though they pretty much have a monopoly on caching right now things can and will change fast when people get upset and other options come available.Just look at myspace that is just about broke and not used much now because they thought they were the place to be and also tried to dictate what everyone could do and then along came facebook with a better site.
I use and like c;geo.
(runs and hides in the corner from the geolackies)
I really like the new colors and all. Looks alot more profesional then the old style.
Great job!!

I don’t think it would be too difficult. Probably easier with a drill press (more even pressure.) If you do decide to try it, I would probably clamp it to a board and use several size drill bits, starting with a nice small pilot hole and gradually enlarging it.
Make sure you use a punch to make a starter indent whether using a hand drill or a press. My experience is that using a small bit and working up chips the paint/enamal more then using one bit the size you want but i haven’t done very large holes. My holes were big enough to get a split ring key chain thru it. Just make sure you go slow when drilling. Make sure you clamp it and have a piece of wood underneath it. That will help keep the bottom side from chipping but even then you may get some chips, specially if it is the enamal that you are drilling thru.

There is a WIG app for droids?
Ok, I found it on my own. It is called WhereYouGo and can be found in the app market.

…to use your Geocaching App on your phone….
Lowering their price and improving their mediocre app would encourage more people to use it then these silly souveniors ever will.
Haven’t made it very high myself.
Flower Mountain GC1EAHM 6115 feet New Mexico
and my lowest is,
Gotta Go South (On the Fly!) GCVZCH 16 feet Florida
My average is 859 feet on all of my finds.
All most half of my finds have been in the 600-900 foot range.
At 9:15 pm sunday night the river broke the old record and was at 20.54 feet making this the highest recorded level.
Thanks sandlanders but we are fine and on high ground.
I-39 is not closed. There are big back ups at the river from construction and eveyone headed home from the great north and slowing down to get a good look at the river. They are suggesting an alternative route of 90 to hwy 82.
The Wisconsin Dells dam has been wide open the whole time. They are not even trying to slow down the water here.
Levee Rd where your cache is located has been closed since this morning because of water over the road. It is still passable but they are trying to keep the gawkers out of the area and they are worried about the integetry of that levee too.
At 4:15 p.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service’s Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service said the Wisconsin River had reached 20.4 feet in Portage near the Highway 33 bridge. That is above the predicted crest.
It’s the second-highest crest on record, behind 20.5 feet on Sept. 14, 1938, and just more than 20.2 feet on March 17, 1973. Flood stage is 17 feet.
They have admitted locally that they don’t have any idea at this point how high it will go and believe it will be wednesday before water starts receding.
There is a levee on the west side of the river just south of hwy 33 that is giving away and is 40% breached and about 200 homes are expected to be flooded.
And the national news is reporting that the city of Portage is the area that is being effected by the breached levee and is being evacuated but that is wrong.
At 9:15 am this morning the Wisconsin River was at 20.18 feet at the hwy 33 bridge in Portage. This is the third highest it has ever been recorded at.
