Congratulations!!!!! 😀
FINALLY — I don’t have to keep the secret anymore!

Don’t count Diane out yet, she found a bunch today.
Yepper, sure did: 50 in 7 hours. 😀
Congratulations on your milestone, especially on such a cache, and your ability to carve your name so quickly on the wall 😉 (jk).
B.Q.A great milestone for a great team, one of the nicest couples I know! Congratulations on your newest milestone! 😀 I look forward to seeing, sharing, and smiling on the trails with you again.
Diane
B.Q.Thanks for the accolades. 🙂 The weather has been so nice it is hard to stay inside, so I’ve been enjoying the colors, weather, bike trails, and more! 😀
We are all getting older! I finished my MBA in March and my son has kept me busy since. He just started his senior year and I’m trying to take in a lot of his athletic events since when he goes to college I probably won’t be able to. We were just an IU and rather than spend the day caching while he was at a baseball camp, I sat and watched him perform (and grabbed a few caches afterwards). I didn’t have to and he probably wouuld have preferred me not to, but couldn’t help myself — I love to watch him play baseball!
I also echo Team Honneybunnies as I don’t really care what the numbers others have. The mix is such that the measurement is not apples to apples anyway. No doubt that I like to quantify my finds, but the numbers are for me (though the numbers of others may motivate me to get me moving).
No, not going to be run over just passed on by the side. I’ve had to slow the car down for energy conservation.
I have to say that JimandLinda have some of the most interesting cemetery caches! In speaking via email with Jim, he said he has a book that provides him locations of historical markers, cememteries, etc. If you are in the FDL and surrounding areas, I would for sure recommend their caches!!
I just spoke to Bob a little bit ago and he’s home and on the way to recovery. He said he didn’t think Bonnie would allow him to do his recovery on the trails, maybe that time can be spent on the honey do list?
But seriously, Bob is doing well and should be back on the trails before long, and hopefully before he has to go back to this thing called “work”. 😈 We all know how soothing and healing a smiley face can be! 😛
Bob, may the path of recovery be a quick one!
Diane
B.Q.Bemis Woods, I can’t remember if I did that cache or not.
Just an FYI, Forest Preserves in Illinois are hang outs for….well you know, that kind of activity. Uncle_Fun had a guy that went to approach him (we detered the dude).
NEVER back into a parking spot at a Forest Preserve down there as you are asking for “company” and I do mean male company.
I’ve read the book thanks to Uncle_Fun loaning it to me.
It is part of the Rock Harbor Series by the author (though you don’t need to read any of the others to jump right in).
I’d be interested to know how much the author knew about caching when she wrote the book. It be interesting to know if geocaching.com changed the website due to the story (requiring a login prior to getting coordinates).

Hi BQ,
Thanks for sharing your views, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your views here. The BOD acted upon the feedback we were getting from our members, and many people shared their views prior to the decision, and helped us shaped the new policy. We also felt that there was a need to take action because the past policy was damaging to the reputation of the WGA, both within the state and with the general geocaching community at large.
As far as going out and doing it ourselves, 6 of the 9 current BOD members and one former BOD member were at Governor Dodge this weekend preparing for the campout, putting out over 50 temps, and doing our best to make the event a success and fun for everyone. Personally, I had a great walk in Governor Dodge today, and the only smiley that I got out of it was the one on my face, enjoying exploring an amazing place.
I am sorry that you did not get to vote. We did send an email out to all WGA members, in addition to soliciting input here in the forums. If you are one of the few who did not get the email, you might want to check if your spam filter nabbed it. There may be other issues that we vote on in the future, and you will want to get future emails, so check your spam filter. If that doesnt fix the problem, send a note to Jeremy and he can likely help you troubleshoot why you might have missed the notification. We do want input from all members, and we value your views.zuma
Ralph,
First let me address your last comment about “going out and doing.” That was not directed to the BOD but the cachers that sit at the computers complaining about what others do/say, trying to influence others to believe that why they cache is why others should cache and how others should log/not log, etc.
Second, regarding the reputation of the WGA due to the multiple logging. I would think it would be reflective more on the individuals that log multiple finds than the cache owner. Russell 53040 has (had) and 18 stage multi and he allowed each finder to log multiple finds. Is he being drug over the coals?
Honestly, I am unfamiliar with all the stink that is being said because I don’t visit the gc.com forums. No cachers have contacted me directly regarding how I play the game, which includes logging multiple attends at events. If they did, I would politely tell them that everyone plays the game different. I can go into detail how people do things that others may feel are wrong, unethical, etc., but it doesn’t really matter as it is how they choose to play and it is just an opinion.

I’ve been trying to stay quiet on this topic, but I just have to say that a majority of WGA members did not vote to no longer log temporary caches.
The majority of members, a whopping 85%, didn’t vote on the issue at all. Which means the action taken by the board was based on the opinion of just under 10% of the active members. Please don’t say that a majority of members voted for something when that is clearly not the case.
End of Rant
GERAT POINT!
I am an infrequent visitor to the website…I don’t normally visit the forums, rarely read the home page, and only if I hit Referendums by accident instead of recent logs do I go there…and every time I have done that by accident it says no referendums at the time. SO, as for the Referendum, I DID NOT VOTE as I did not see it out there. I think the board is wrong if they believe this decision is what a majority of the members want as stated above. What I believe it communicates is that the board is reacting to the people that focus on forums and what others are doing rather than going out and doing themselves.
I know I’ll probably regret posting here but I’m going to anyway.
Yes, I am one of those cachers that strive to find every cache hidden at an event. I proudly log every one of them as I know, especially at the picnic, what a challenge it was to hunt and find every one of the caches. I traveled three hours one-way to hunt caches all day/night, to drive home another three hours. Would I travel three hours to log one find? Maybe, but probably unlikely.
Do I look at the rankings of cachers? Yes, I do.
Does it mean anything to me? No except that it gets me motivated to get moving, which allows me to drink Dr. Pepper by the gallon and still maintain the same size I was when I got married 23 years ago.
Do I care what others think of my logging? No, not really. I log what I want and don’t log what I don’t want to (ha! Yes, sometimes I don’t log a no find).
I don’t understand why we care so much about what others think about how we log our events, caches, etc. Do we really define ourselves based on others standards, or are we individuals?
Changing how we do something because some people are disatissfied is a form of peer pressure, don’t you think? Just like pressing the gas to go faster because someone is on your tail. Or the person that is pushing you to take that first drink, inhale that first drag, etc.
Do you really think those people complaining are going to like us now because we are now following what they’re doing? Again, FOLLOWING? I’d rather be a leader. 😀 AND, if we adapt to what they want, what’s next?
Everyone plays the game different, and everyone plays the game for different reasons. Same game (hobby) but the value isn’t the same to everyone.
Those people that are complainging, why do they care? We are not competing for awards except for the ones we make for ourselves, or maybe because we appreciate the accolades from fellow cachers when we hit a milestone or a FTF.
I don’t quilt the same way as someone else does, does that mean my quilt is less valuable or wrong?
Yeah, I know it’s late and this is probably not written as well as it should be but, well, you know.
I want to log all the temps I find, it means something to me.
I still use Plucker for my queries.
