Regulate and monitor how many caches a person puts out but not regulate what a person says on these forums? Hmm……
There are seekers and there are hiders. Some people get more pleasure out of hiding than seeking; likewise, some people get more pleasure out of seeking than hiding. If there becomes an issue with a geocachers caches (i.e. muggled, no finds, no maintenance) then by all means I say don’t approve any more caches for that cacher.
It is evident that this sport is growing by word of mouth and by the help of various media outlets. I appreciate the notification and the concern that the approvers have with the delay in approving caches. I don’t believe, however, that we should try to persuade cachers not to hide caches. Maybe we should consider (with the growth in WI caching) adding a “flex” approver that can help on overflow for the week or maybe a third approver. The last thing we want to do is reject growth, right?
Congratulations to both the ecorangers and DD for making their milestones. It was great being able to be with you both as you achieved your milestone.
A BIG Congrats to DD for making his find #1,000. It seems just like last week when you hit #800 with me in Indiana.
Congrats and welcome to the 1K club!

I’ve been using a Magellan Meridian Gold for 1 1/2 years and I thought the SD card was only for mapping. The Meridian Gold has the ability to keep 500 waypoints on the GPSr. In speaking to Lonesumdove, the one she is inquiring about is the Meridian Gold.
Anyway, I thought the SD card was only for waypoints and/or routes. Hmm, interesting — I’ll have to check it out.
Thanks!
Congrats Dave on your unique milestone! It’s always nice to share the trails with you and also to witness the dancing!
Happy Hunting,
Diane
B.Q.Congrats!! Do you have that many hides too? Glad you are enjoying the hobby as well as hiding or caches you have. So the question is: are you a seeker or a hider?
CONGRATS again!!

Most of you have come to know her as BQ (Bushwhacking Queen)but I’ve come to know her as TQ (Trail Queen) because she preferred to use “trails” where they were available last weekend! 1000 is not so far away now!!
DD – that was our secret!

Congratulations Zuma!! Forgive us for not congratulating you earlier!!

(It’s much harder to know when people hit their milestones without a stats page.)
Congratulations, Russell, on your big milestone. Thanks for including me on your hunt for 1,000 and the celebration afterwards.
B.Q.Congratulations to Digital Dan & DJwini for hitting a new milestone.
I was with DD when he made his milestone. Let me just say if you ever need a getaway driver DD is you man! Great to spend the weekend on the trails with you while we both milestoned. The next one is just around the corner!

Hello and welcome to geocaching. I believe you will find that most everyone associated with geocaching are friendly people out to have a good time and enjoy the great gifts our fine country (and world) has to offer.
I look forward to meeting you,
B.Q.So agreeable (to Lostby7’s comment)! I actually have been trying to stay out of the forums and actually have gone as far as to delete the WGA from my favorites listing. I only come on here now when someone mentions something to me or I want to see if anyone has milestoned lately so I can pass on my accolades.
I don’t agree with everything that is written on here (the forums) and realize that people are entitled to their own opinion and beliefs. It is unfortunate, however, that this idea/thought is lost on some members. Cachers that are new and come to the forums and are hammered by rude comments and also can see attacks made from one cacher to the other. Personal grudges or dislikes are played out like a soap opera on these forums.
I guess my question to the WGA is: what is the purpose of these forums? Are these forums staying on track of the purpose of having them? All I see and hear are members leaving and/or not participating because of the afore mentioned. It’s unfortunate because if they stop coming to the WGA website variety leaves, objectivity and creativity partially leave, and then….
Well you get the picture.
