Who is Russell_53040? Interesting question and difficult to answer.
I received an email last summer (I think) from this geocacher named Russell_53040. He was inviting me to go caching with him. Hmm, I have to admit I was slightly intimidated by the email. It was a period of time when I was averaging 200 finds a month and, I have to admit, had a lot of cachers emailing me wanting to go caching with me. I just didn’t want to put myself in an awkward position. That being said, he was new to caching, he lived nearby (did I know him already?), and I felt a bit uncomfortable. I responded to his email by referring him to ecorangers, specifically Professor. Next thing I knew Earth Angel said she ran into him and his wife at one of my caches.
Russell is an interesting guy. {{giggle, giggle}} He has a big heart, very generous, and he loves to hide caches, and enjoys reading about cacher’s adventures at his caches. It makes him very happy to know that kids (of all ages) enjoyed his caches and enjoyed the toys he leaves in them.
Russell_53040 is a kid at heart and even younger when it comes to manners at the dinner table. He likes to enjoy life and a part of that (and growing as each day goes by) is geocaching. The more devious the hide the bigger smile he wears.
So if you’re at an event and see a man acting like a boy, childish, fun-loving, belching, and laughing, chances are it is Russell.

Predictions are coming too! Look for them in Mid January, I think that’s when I normally do that. For Now, it’s time to:
1. update the resume
2. renew WGA membership
3. kiss the wife~tb
Though you’ve listed them in this order I’m sure you’ll start with #3.
Wow – hard to believe it’s that time already!
Congratulations!
I thought for sure I was going to run into you both on the trails yesterday (Monday). It seems like we were caching in the same area. I came across caches you found both Christmas day and the day after, on the day after.
A big kudos to you — I look forward to seeing you both again.

I never even thought about it, but now you planted the seed! I have about 40 more to meet that number…it will be close!
Way to go Giz! To make such a milestone while placing all those hides too! Congratulations and thank you! I hope to meet you on the trails or at an event one of these days.
-Diane (B.Q.)Congratulations on your milestone and hopping your way to the 500 mark!
We’ll have to find an area that is saturated with caches for us both to find and hook up one of these days!
DianeThanks everyone!
FuFu and Team Honeybunnies, lets make it a date! We always have a great time.Marc, if you would stop caching I could pass you. When I’m a stones throw away you go out and go caching! ^ Winter is coming (can’t believe with all this cold and snow it’s not here yet) and I’m sure you’ll be warming by the fire while I’m blazing the trails.
Russ- you’re crazy; I’m glad I can call you friend.
Ecorangers- Thanks for posting the thread and introducing me to this intoxicating hobby!
Now, why are you all reading this? Get outside and enjoy the gift that God has given us!
DianeYep – its found after a weekend in Vegas…
Way to go Honeybunnies! Happy hunging
Is it possible that someone ran a query under their username and sent it to your e-mail address?
I also failed to mention that the Gander Mountain in Germantown had a Magellan Explorist with software (I think it was streets & maps) for $169 or $179.
Another thoughtful gift.

Not that I plan on giving up my Meridian Gold anytime soon, but I was at Gander Mountain in Kenosha yesterday and saw a great buy. Okay it’s a great buy if you want to cross over to the dark side of Garmin.
They have an Etrex Legend with Topo Software in a bubble pack for $199.99. An etrex legend runs $170 usually (so the guy told me) and here you are getting topo for ALL 50 states with a legend for only $30 more. The guy said it was a great price.
Just in case someone is planning on a gift…
B.Q.And this time, at band camp…
Sorry, Bec, I just had to add that after reading your logs; it was the first thing that came to mind.
Congratulations on your first milestone and hitting it in such a wonderful place!
Hope to meet you on the trails.
