Why not make them 3 independent caches? If the first one is easy enough, it is likely everybody would find that one anyway.

List the 1st cache as a traditional.

    List the P1 cache as a multi-cache, and publish the p1 stage 1 co-ordinates.

    List the P2 cache as a multi-cache, and publish the p2 stage 2 co-ordinates.

That’s great news. Turns out a bunch of people placed caches this weekend.

As of 8:10 tonight, there are 44 other caches along with yours waiting to be reviewed.

    edit (that’s just for Wisconsin)

I believe there is one big fire ring per group site. The WGA will usually have a fire going both evenings. I know last year you couldn’t bring in out-of-state wood, did they further tighten this restriction I wonder?

I don’t believe we are planning on having fire in the morning, so having a stove along would probably be a good idea.

I appreciate the fact that Milwaukee Parks are working on a policy (as well as some other cities). But for now, there is no policy in place, therefore there is nothing to “enforce”.

It is completely plausable that permission was obtained. It is also completely plausable that the person granting permission has no idea about the “almost” policy yet.

Prior to placing and submitting a cache you are expected to review the following guidelines. In order to post a new cache and submit it for review you must indicate that you have read the guidelines as required.

By submitting a cache listing, you assure us that you have adequate permission to hide your cache in the selected location. However, if we see a cache description that mentions ignoring “No Trespassing” signs (or any other obvious issues), your listing may be immediately archived. We also assume that your cache placement complies with all applicable laws. If an obvious legal issue is present, or is brought to our attention, your listing may be immediately archived.

I’m sure there’s plenty of trash to go around… 😉

Seriously, both of the events meet the guidelines at geocaching.com (barely on the 2nd one), and that’s why both are listed.

    Nevermind…..

It appears to have been worked out. Cache Page

You might want to ask the reviewer if he could seek a second (or third) opinion about the cache submission. Generally Groundspeak can be pretty lenient when it comes to CITO.

I know I asked about combing Adopt-a-highway and CITO and got an overwhelming thumbs up from the folks over there.

in reply to: DNR cache form submission #1872228

The DNR form a notification form, not a form requiring approval.

It should be submitted to the DNR prior to submitting the cache page to geocaching.com.

    Something to chew on….

With the pending legislation in South Carolina that would criminalize geocaches in cemeteries, we are taking a closer look at all caches located in cemeteries. While the guidelines still permit them, we want to make sure that they not placed in a manner that will reflect poorly on our sport.

Caches should not be on, or near graves. If its an active cemetery, its best to place them on the fringes of the cemetery where searchers are unlikely to encounter mourners.
Its also a good idea to place it in a manner where people will not be required to walk over graves.

Of course its always best if you obtain permission. For cemeteries that are private property, this is required.

Cemetery caches are controversial in some quarters and we need to be as sensitive as possible when placing these caches. We do not want to give any more state’s legislatures a reason to look at this issue.

Here’s some discussion about what is happening down in South Carolina:

in reply to: Picnic Committee: Volunteer Here! #1871268

One of the main things the picnic committee does is determine the location of the picnic.

There are already several board members on the committee, so you won’t be all alone.
