When Tactical Squirrel finally decides which caches he is going to adopt out, he can use the automated system at geocaching.com.

Simply go to this link: http://www.geocaching.com/adopt

The people who he specifies as the new owners will then have to go to that link to complete the process.

in reply to: T-Shirt Design (Ideas Needed!) #1871402

We have gotten several quotes and have tentatively settled on a place that is going to print up T-shirts, Crew Sweatshirts, and Hooded Sweatshirts (hoodies).

A single printed color would be the least expensive. They can print up to 6 colors, and that would be the most expensive. 6 color printing will drive the cost up about $3 per shirt over 1 color printing.

You will probably want to post a “disable” note, explaining about the high water. If the ammo box is under the water, there is a chance that it is still dry inside. It depends on how good the seal is.

If you want to move it to higher ground, send me an e-mail and I can help you get the co-ords changed on the website.

Yes, this has been moved from the “General” forum to the “Off Topic” forum.

Here are the maps that the reviewers use to check to see if it is on DNR property or not: http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/facilities/dnr_lands_mapping.html

If it is on DNR property, it isn’t really a big deal to submit the form. Often the DNR folks that are in charge of these little bits of land have absolutely no concern for gecaching / geocachers, as they are usually spread pretty thin. Where you are most likely to encounter any resistance at all is at the major and popular state parks.

If you want, you can PM me the co-ords and I can check it out.

    Mmmmmmm. Beer.

Don’t be afraid of the word “Bock”. IMHO it has the “kick” of a red beer (think Leinie’s Red or Killian’s Irish Red).

Take a look and let me know how you would be tactful in writing to this person, or would you…..

He’s a newbie, give him a break. I would send him a friendly note asking him to return to the site and sign the book. I might explain to him that that is normally the way it is done.

Is there going to be a bonfire to gather around? Great place to drink people! oops I mean meet people. 😳

Vegas Gulpers are in! Vegas Gamblers by the way nice to meet you.

Weather permitting, there will likely be a bonfire both Friday and Saturday nights at one of the group camp sites.

Are there any fees to attend the camp out? Do we need to register ahead of time? We would like to attend, but we need a little more info. Our options are open for either camping or drive back home. If we decided to truck camp do we have to register for a site and are there any left?

There are no fees to attend the campout. It would be a good idea to register. There will be a system set up here at this website (wi-geocaching.com) where you can register. That way we can be sure and have enough materials (maps, booklets, etc.) to go around.

There are fees (probably around $12/night per tent) if you want to join us at one of the group sites for camping. Those fees will be posted soon.

If you want to “truck camp”, you could get your own site. Simply go Reserve America and get check for yourself.

You bet. It is yours to do with what you like. It’s good news that you are going to restore it to it’s former glory. Thank you.

…As per Jeremy’s idea…I have to agree. Offer the 1 yr position to the #1 ranking and let it flow downline. It would be a little weird for the #6 position to just have that thrown at them.

Technically, if this had happened at *any* other time, we would have held a special election. Since there was already an election going on, we simply “tacked” the position on at the end. (at least that was my thinking on the whole matter)

I would, however, entertain doing it Jeremy’s way if that’s what people want.

in reply to: WGA Campout Coin THANK YOU! #1769383

I would also like to thank all of those involved with the Campout Coin project on behalf of the WGA and the BOD.

It was a great looking coin, and it was a great addition to our campout!

    Thank You Very Much! 😀
