We have now sold about 800 coins.
(We’ve doubled our sales in less than 24 hours).
We sold just over 400 coins to members, prior to opening it up to everybody.

I dunno if it costs more to get our very own geocoin icon or not, but I will look into it.
If anybody has any ideas for their own geocoin icon, please post it here.

You can release them, give them goals, and use them just like travel bugs. Each coin will have genuine geocaching.com tracking number and will track EXACTLY like a travel bug.
Or, you can collect them, give them out for Christmas presents etc…

we are over 48 hours into the sale of the geocoins, and we have orders for over 310 of them.
If you intend on paying by check, I would suggest getting your order in prior to the 10th of October. We are thinking of limiting payment to Credit / Pay-Pal only once we open sales up to everybody.
We’ve had several people ask the question “Why can’t I order more than one geocoin?”
Answer: After updating the number in the “Qty” box, you must press the “Update” button prior to proceeding to the checkout.

The e-mail went out about 24 hours ago…
There has been about 50 orders, totaling about 250 coins.
Wow.

Longitude: -87.91586
Latitude: 43.04301I know it’s pretty simple, but it just eludes me at this moment…
For starters….
W87
N43Then, take .91586 and multiply by 60 to get 54.952
Then, take .04301 and multiply by 60 to get 2.581
The final answer is…
N43 02.581 W87 54.952

If you are interested in helping out with geocaching.com activities and/or wi-geocaching.com activies you should try and get voted onto the Board Of Directors of the WGA. From there, the world is your oyster.
If you are interested in running for the board, you will need to be nominated (and seconded) to get on the ballot. All you really have to do is let some people know you are interested, and I’m sure a nomination will follow.
Elections are held during the late winter of each year.
Edited for not having brain fully engaged but fingers typing madly.

Bunny….
The WGA thanks you. Your cable worked splendidly at the picnic.
I also love my e-map. It has a nice big screen, is thin, small, and light, and the buttons are at the bottom.
The 76 series have smaller screens, are thicker and heavier, and have the buttons above the screen.
They also have expandable memory, and as of this posting there is one for sale on eBay.
Downsides:
1. Not Waterproof (just water resistant)
2. No USB upload / download capability (Takes over 20 minutes to load 8MB of maps) -
