There was a television commercial for a credit card company several years ago featuring a husband walking around his house stating how far he was from Los Angles, how fast he was walking, what his elevation was, etc… all while his wife was watching him, shaking her head. The premise was that the wife had bought a GPSr for her husband, and now he was driving her crazy with it. At the end of the commercial the wife mutters “Should’ve bought him the tie”. My wife bought me my GPSr for Christmas one year, and let’s say that the commercial hits really close to home.
Now you know. You will first need a cable. Often you can find on on ebay for cheap.
Like this one for example: Linkey-Link
Then, probably the best bet would be to get the free software from geocaching.com: Easy GPS
You do not need a version of mapsource.

Personally, I think they SHOULD NOT be placed there, but not banned by geocaching. There is a whole array of stuff that falls under the “dangerous” umbrella.
Yup. I agree.
My computer opens them just fine using “Quicktime”.
Windows media player should also be able to play them.
Our webmaster has made it really easy.
All you need to do is type the GC number, like this:
GC12346
My first car owned was a 1975 VW Super-Beetle. The weird thing was, that this car had electronic fuel injection, virtually unheard of for the time. The car would only barely produce enough heat in the winter to clear a little spot on the windshield. Ah, memories.
It is my understanding that the WAAS satellites are best when you are nearer one coast or the other, not in the middle. It is my understanding that the WAAS satellites can be picked up here in the midwest, but you need to be standing out in the wide open to get any benefit.
I think that most geocachers turn the WAAS feature off, because some believe (correctly or incorrectly, I don’t know) that it actually decreases your accuracy when you are in the woods.
My information is old and coming from the deep dark recesses of my brain. Maybe somebody else has some more good information on it.
Care to post at least one link to what you are referring?
I’ve used mine many times while flying.
The 60Csx with the new fabulous and fantastic chipset works well. You don’t even have to hold it right at the window. Otherwise, if you aren’t as lucky to have the new fabulous and fantastic chipset, you will need to keep the unit practically touching the window.
I use Duracell “Pre-Charged” and I have both a 15 minute and a slow charger for them. It is the same ones you bought for door prizes at the campout.
They work great in my various GPSr’s and they work REALLY GREAT in digital cameras.

Then maybe they should have rolled out the logo when they were ready to make the change
The “they” you are speaking of, is one person.
That one person has a real full time job that has recently become very demanding.
Please have patience. Instead of dwelling on it, go out and find a few geocaches.
There’s no good reason to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
Have a good time. I’m staying on the ground.
If you run Firefox, you can add an “extension” that will translate pages automatically.
Don’t know how well it works, your mileage may vary.
Try this:
You can past the text from the cache page there, or you can paste the cache page web address. It isn’t the best, but you should be able to get the idea of what the C.O. is trying to relate.
Really nice article.
… like it was written by a professional writer. 😉
