  • Thanks for bragging for me LB7 LOL I just love Earthcaches and would rather take the drive to do them than a full day of regular caches. Just wish gas was not so high. I would love to get out, travel to do more and find new places to put some. Gas in one reason we travel in 4’s. We have great company, get to see lots of kewl stuff and share in the expenses.

Hoping to get (GCP3GN) Two Creeks Buried Forest up and running again soon!! Just waiting for the go ahead, since this is in a SNA. For those of you who had not grabbed this one up when it was active, there isn’t much here and getting to the beach is a bit difficult. Being a SNA, we need to be careful, but……..tell that to the kids who party down there and trash the beach. 🙄 Oh well… just need to hurry up and wait again for this one.

If the Earthcache in question is in the middle of where or land that there is no one to contact, if you let Geoaware know that, there should be no issue. For example, roadside geological/historical markers. There isn’t anyone to contact and people are stopping there already.

The hardest part with these is finding something for people “To Do” at them. It CAN’T be like measuring the sign, Have to have them guestimate something, describe and maybe hypothesis why it’s like that, etc. it’s not as hard as it seems….just need to be creative. You can always ask one of us, who is a Earthcache master, for some ideas on what to do, since we have probably seem similar things in other states.

    Good luck!!

in reply to: geoaware’s reviewing schedule? #1886293

I got to chat on line with geoaware a while back. He is pretty much into just Earthacaches and not so much as finding but approving them. Last look at his profile, he has only found 35 geocaching total. He is originally from Austrailia, but living in Colorado now. As for how he approaches the approvals, I know he does give up to 10 days for approval. He must take one day, like Mondays, to do his thing. With more coming out, he may be looking for help. I should drop him a note again.

in reply to: Signs of SpringT #1886262

Team BenDigiFu…on our trip to Las Vegas last weekend, we felt the signs of spring, with temps about 60-68 during the days and 40’s at night. WE forced the point to wear shorts, since it was sooooo much warmer. Until………… We got to Zion N.P in Utah, temps dropped to 32 and snow few in HUGE clumps. Here’s a pic of benny7210 with the evidence whipping by.
