  • Doesn’t have to be in Manitowoc. I Just happen to live 20 minutes from there is all. I just don’t KNOW Sheboygan all that well. Here is some other info I have on other places.

Sheboygan Library Hours -Monday and Wednesday 9-8
    Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9-5

8p is better than 7p for sure, but the date I had chosen is a Thursday, based on my work schedule, of which I work 12 hr shifts. Wil look at an alternative day of the week.

Fond du Lac Library Hours – Monday & Thursday til 8P
Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday til 5P

Appleton Library Hours – Mon.- Thurs.9-8 Friday 9-6

Opinions on a 5:30p to 8:00p (2.5hrs) time slot???? or would we like to have that extra hour?? I am in the process of searching aditiona WiFi availability in other nearby cities.

Ok.. called the Library for hrs. Might be a problem. They are only open til 7p Monday-thursday, 6p on Friday & 1p on Saturday.

If we met on a week day at 530p, that would give us only 1.5hrs to work on stuff. I called and they said they don’t keep meeting rooms open longer than the library hrs. 🙁 Barely getting the ball rolling at 2.5 hrs. Ok..will keep looking and if nothing else we could get a start.

Called the Culture Cafe on Calument in Manitowoc and they can hold up to 30 ppl. They close at 5p but DO open up for private meeting or parties. They can do a variety of things for us too, all we have to do is ask prior to the event. They DO have Wi-Fi so at least we would have internet access. So that is my front runner!!

Having the references available was something I did think of. I know htey change to their summer hours sometime. I’ll have to look into that. Thanks again, Dan!!

    Jeff,

I was asked to do something similar, here in Manitowoc, this coming October. Depending on WHEN they would like to do something like this, I would think it would be fun to get over to the other side of the state and help out, as well as getting a few caches of my own over yonder.

🙄 Hmmm…. Now where have I heard of this idea before!?

Ok, Fu, ya beat me to the punch. However, I will certainly try and be there, since I love puzzles.

    Marc

Well GEE Marc.. I just wonder WHO that fellow cacheris, that gave me the idea……. Hmmmm? 😀 😉 LOL 😛 Oh…….

PS… since you own 99% of those puzzle caches in Appleton Marc, you can just GIVE us the answers ROFLMAO

When I ran the wi-fi list for Manitowoc, the Library didn’t come up.. that’s ODD. Only 4 places showed and the was Holiday Inn, Culture Cafe, Applebees and some other place I can’t remember.. Thanks for the INfo Dan!!

For me, caching is a way to commune with nature, get some great exercise outdoors, have some frustrating fun and socializing on common ground, with some great people, from all walks of life. I love to see the excitement and enthusiasm on faces of all ages/ in their logs, when they come to an event I put on or do caches I place. It’s as simple as that. Numbers are fun, but I do it for ME and not for the competition…..OK.. just a very little bit for the competition, but MOSTLY for me!! 😀

Gonna have to play with the program on my days off. They don’t let me do much on the work computer 🙁 Sounds like a great little progran and a new toy to play with. 😀

Well put down ONE tent for me. Dan will probably bunk with me. I’ll have to put tape down the middle to declare MY side. LOL

I think we got down there around 0730 or 0800. That is a good time to start. That way if y’all have any energy left at all, to do some odd caches around the area, we can get those into. We were pretty pooped out by the end of our day, but we did get one or two others in.. I think… I don’t really remember. LOL

Hell..if I can cache for 5 days straight, 20 hrs a day, with only 3 hrs sleep a nite…whats the Gauntle plus a few more. LOL

Okey Dokey CoastieGal04… it sounds like we do have a number of us camping out, but are we going to Lil Otters or are we thinking about Mirror Lake, which was also mentioned?? Either place I think I am looking at a LATE arrival LOL

Hey Lil otter… if we sack out at your place, whats the coords over yaonder???

What a grand way to hit a grand Anne!

A somewhat related question… did the ladies attempt to break the record for the most caches found in a day? I know Anne and others mentioned that they might try to do this.

No we didn’t.. only our personal best. We got 106 in one day. The German team with a cpl others broke their own record reaching 312 caches in a 24 hr period. We did find out HOW they did it, but now the contreversy has started.

I’m getting there with my logs 😯 , a long an tedious process and YES I will have at LEAST 1100 when I’m done. All that and one heck of a bad sprained ankle, luckily acquired on the last day of caching and NOT the first. LOL

Thanks everyone….Never thought I’d see the day and my team mates darn near killed me getting there. LOL

I was planning on it, but I work thru til Friday nite and would only have Saturday nite to be there. This holiday would be fine with me since I don’t have a dad or dad-in-law to celebrate the holiday with and we don’t have children. 🙁
