Remember the panic attack on the rocks? )RE: Camping. Lorrie (Lil Otter) has offered to allow people to camp at her place which would be about 25 miles from The Gauntlet. Actually Mirror Lake, which is less than 5 miles from the cache, has a number of small group campsites (20 people max) that are also available for the weekend… this may be a good alternative if more than a handful of people want to camp.
So how many people want to find or refind The Gauntlet on the 22nd and camp Fri or Sat night?
Yeah yeah… rub it in Jeremy One thing I find myself doing, is placing myself in situations that I am not comfortable with so that I may over come then. Soooooo….that’s why I am taking on this one AGAIN. I know what I did wrong the first time and can change my plan and mid set.
So there sew buttons on your underwear!!
I have to work the Friday before, but would love to camp out where ever everyone else is. I guess I could come down AFTER words, but I think that puts me down there about 2230. As long as there are no objections to me pitching a tent at that hour. LOL I know… I’ll send digital Dan down with my tent ahead of time and HE can pitch it for me. Right BUDDY???

Way to go!!

Lets see…Low road – the wadders for sure, but then again, before the spit off, we ALL hit water at one point. If we get any more rain this yr, maybe we should just bring in canoes and take and alternate route LOL Just kidding… more like an ARK!! LOL
LB7 The list looks great. I am trying to remember what I FORGOT the first time. If I think of anything I’ll let ya know. Oh.. Is Bug spray on that list?? The skeeters should be out for sure and they grow BIG in them there hills!! And TICKS!! Bring the tick scoops!! As for bears…have not heard of any encouters YET this yr, but pepper spray is a good addition.
Ok…here we go!!

With this many people Linsey, you should make it an EVENT!! “Gauntlet Go-Getters Event” LOL
As for time it takes to do this…well.. it all dpends on how well we all play together. Arguments on decisions of what to do or not to do, definately slows ya down. Our group worked well together and it still took a lot of time. WATER was a huge issue. That and we had sleet, rain & snow that day!! With the rainfall this spring, water can still be an issue. Read the logs for equipment we all braught. I was packed pretty heavily with knee-high boots, walking stick, a backpack full of necessities like flashlites, TP, food, water, compass, extra batteries, first aid kit, heavy gloves, like a good leather work glove too. At least a 6 pack of H2o each is a good start. Heavy but well worth it. Wadders are better than knee-high muck boots. We took climbing ropes and THAT was a huge help for the people taking the highroad.
It sounds like a lot but well worth it in the end!!

My camera got beat up pretty good on this one and I came out with a few strains, a sprain, a knee that got really stiff and a good gash across my face. I still have all my extremeties though.

TOTALLY understandable that dates are chosen based on availablilty of the location… just was bummed I’m missing everything. I WISH my family was interested, but I’m the “Outdoors Black Sheep” of the family. LOL
I am available the weekend of June 24-25 for sure. I also Have June 3-4 & June 17-18, but they are my long weekends and we usually go up North then. I could arrange things if I know in advance.
For July, I have the weekends of 15-16, 22-23 & 29-30 availalbe with enough notice.

Hey Marc…just saw this posting. It’s weird, `cause I was joking about this to my bubby, while visiting old cemetaries on our vacation. Told him that I wanted final resting coords on my cremation ID plate. Hey… when you’re dedicated you’rededicated. I’ll just leave a pic of my TB on the front too, so everyone knows for sure it’s me. ROFLMBO!!
