I finally got some positive results from a cache that has been diabled for almost a year. I rewrote to the person(s), stating I had wrote to them a month or so and again was wondering if they could archive the cache in question. Since they continuously had problems with it, I did not want to adopt the cache. They wrote back and said, no porblem. I did offer to adopt one of their other caches they were having problems with, but they decided to just archive it. Seems they are no longer into the sport and decided to just close everything up. I was happy to see that I could now place cachesin the area, but was also a sad moment to see that the previous cache owners are no longer active.
{edit: spelling…yeah yeah.. I KNOW .. Spellcheck!!}

Hey Bob….do what I do!! Just have a couple of beers and ALL the icons change into something else. LOL
I’m have Palm issues on my side, but at least I am Paperless too now! Waahoo!!
I agree with getting on with the archiving. I have tried to contact cachers who have had a caches disabled for almost a yr. I don’t want to adopt this one, as I would much rather get a couple caches in that park, without having to work around theirs. Of course…the people I end up trying to contact don’t seem to answer back, so I’ll let “Tie” attack again!! LOL
Sure…. I have on right here in front of me in another open window on my broswer…. See???? OOOh look at that…. now THAT’s awesome!!
I have an interesting situation for my 7 caches here in Two Rivers. The Exec. Dir. of Woodland Dunes came to me and asked if I would like to put caches on their property. The problem was that it is listed as a State Natural Area….and we all know what THAT means. Woodland Dunes is 3/4 privately owned though and that is what allowed us to prevail.
With help from our awesome Approver “Tie”, a lot of patients on all our parts, a talk before the Dunes Board and 2 months of waiting, I finally got the OK. I too have stipulations I need to follow, but it makes the hides all that much more challenging for me as the Cache hider. Basically, I and other volunteers of the Dunes, monitor the caches, they are to be placed no greater than about 5ft from the trail with no bushwhacking. Luckly for me, there are many great places to sneak in a hide, that I even have some caches well hide ON the trail
As each of us, as well as the WGA, works bit by bit with the DNR, PROVING we can do this without distruction of property, I see a bright future for cache placement on DNR lands.

Definate slowdown, especially on a Sunday late afternoon. I would get the Servy too busy comment. I got a “Geocaching down for maintenance” the other nite. I see there are a few new items showing up under the Cache page, like the “Send to Phone” option at the bottom of the navigation box. They must really have to expand to keep up with all the influx of caches and info.

Suuuuuuuuuuuure no problem. I’ll be up in Crivitz this weekend. HEY.. everyone come up there and we’ll redo the Way Up Nord Fall event again!!
I am on the A Team too and really enjoy the new site. I’ts got some really neat stuff on it. Have a couple of ideas I’d like to see that will be help to the not-so-computer literate cachers like me!! Just have to drop the ideas of with Da Boss.
My opinion too… I think people will like the new site A LOT better. Job well done on this project!!

Way to PK! Hope to meet up with you on the trails someday soon!!
I just don’t understand people. Why do some have to ruin it for others. If it ain’t yours dont touch it, especially if ya don’t knwo WHAT it is. Just saw the note that was left at one of Marc_54140’s cachea about what THAT muggle did to Marc opne cache. It is frustrating. Fortunately, I only have issues with 4-legged muggles and Mother Nature. That’s bad enough LOL
I understand about the swag too. My situations havebenn where leave much more & take nothing, when caches have been invaded BY cachers and there is nothing left but bottle caps, stones or other pieces of…..well….garbage.
