Yes I agree it is the responsibility of the entire Board to moderate the entire site, but why not trying specific people watching a specific area?
Then to answer the question of “preventing future issues”….It is ONLY a possibility and an HUGE maybe, that issues can be resolved quickly or prevented.
I can only imagine that it must be a HUGE job for each and everyone on the Board to moderate the WHOLE site. But an individual having a catagory “MIGHT” be able to acknowledge issue right away, then bring it to the attention of the rest of the Board, then POSSIBLEY avoiding problems. These are all ONLY ideas. Who’s to say what will or wo’t work.
It’s like kinda 9 Hurders watching 1000 sheep. Do they all stand around watching ALL the sheep at one time?? In a sense, but they have a grouping and when a few stray…do the Hurders then chase all the sheep towards the strays??? (i.e. would all the Board members have to watch all the catagories all the time) No…they watch the entire group as a whole, but split up the group to pull in the strays individaully or with another person (or dog) or two. Once done…they discuss the issue and get back to the group watch. HEY.. I lived in Wyoming too long!! What can I say. I am by NO means stating we are a bunch of sheep that all need tending to… but in a sense…. we are. AND……Gotta think out of the box once in a while and try different stuff!
In the case of the Board.. YES, everyone watches all the “sheep” all the time, yet if they were to POSSIBLY work on a catagory individually they can call in the rest when the issue gets out of hand.
I repeat… these are ONLY IDEAS.
Thanks for asking me the questions Jeff and thanks for your feedback!! Muchly appreciated. Hope this makes sense.
PS I agree.. too much time wasted “pissing” out the fires!!

Hmmm not sure which end is up here. Alot said while gone for a day of caching. Yes it is true that topics posted in a forum don’t always get noticed and responded to by a Board Member then some get a lot of attention. It is a difficult task to go through them when life is as busy as it is.
I am lucky enough to be able to read through and respond to Topics almost everyday and at all times of the day (though not a board member). Most people are not that available. I am sure Board members get to the Topics with greatest imporance first, due to busy lives.
It is nice to find a Topics asking opinions on things, like the availability of a report, but we all need to remember to toss things in the “Suggestion Box” too. Does it really MATTER where we post Topics??? Probabley not, but if I have a suggestion I surely would use the area which makes the most sense.
Not that I am speaking for ANY Board member… and I’ll toss this in the suggestion box too, but why not have the catagory moderators speak for theirs as individuals and for the board as necessary. Divi up the catagories and have each person over see one!!
It’s HARD work I know!!!! And not everyone WANTS to do it, but maybe it would help and reduce future issues.
I applaude all the Board members for the job they have chosen to take on.
{firm handshake} Anne

I had the same problem, after trying a few variations on a theme, I finally got it. Seems it still thinks I use my old password, though I changed it and use a different one in the forums. Also, it recognizes my id without the underscores. Have no clue what that is happening.
I’d carry a chainsaw, but something tells me the owner of the cache might get a LIL bit upset with me. So might the DNR!! LOL
The problem I have with some of the PVC containers either with the threads on the inside and a screw top OR the kind that uses friction/slide on to close it, is that I can’t always get them OPEN. Of course it depends on the cacher before me. Get a big honkin’ strong dude before me and he’ll crank that sucker on so darn tight. LOL The friction/slide on ones, not knowing if they are on tight, a screw type or I’m too stupid to realize they slide on, is that I almost killed a couple cache containers by whacking it on a tree to get it loose.
A cacher’s gotta do what she’s gotta do!!
Dumb question here…but do we pay via credit card on the form only or can we pay cash in person????
I just signed up and asked Digital Dan if he wanted to go. He’s A LOT closer than me, but if the weather is suitable I can make the 1hr40min trek no problem. Busy weekend with my Geocaching class up here on Saturday, but why not make the whole weekend a Caching weekend!!
Keeping all parts crossed in hopes for good weather.
What’s everyone bringing for food type goodies??

The Sunday Services are a concern of mine for others. I am like you Beast… my faith calls me to commune with nature and share the blessings of friendships. How better than to have an event!!?? I would even have a special “Non-denominational” blessing before hand. For those faithful service goers… It would be a great time to see what the 645 am mass was all about
This is why I tossed out these questions, so I can get a idea if it is an issue or not. Keep the input coming!!
Thanks!!
The WGA of COURSE!!
Otherwise I Like The House of Brews stat page.!!
A while ago there was chat about the Lock & Lock containers. I did find them at Wal-mart. They have a nice seal on them like an ammo box. They do come in different sizes, but it depends on your Wal-mart. I think Target had them too. T
hey are a harder plastic and not as easy to chew on… not that I have tried. LOL

Hope you find something that works!
