Thanks for the personal e-mail Mole_n_Possum. Glad this got worked out. Hope to see you out on the trails sometime soon!
Happy Caching!
My e-mail TO them was very friendly and just asked what their input about the cache being so simple was about, etc. I mentioned about the TB’s and the #’s showing that those are usually blurred. Didn’t attack them, I felt, just inquired nicely and stated that YES some caches are really easy, but now I go for the 4 by 4’s as I call `em LOL Let ya know how it comes out!

They come up with a way to rate what they see/do/find that they enjoy. While those of us who have been doing this for a while, and have seen the good, bad and ugly of the sport may find this offensive…I have to wonder, have any of those who have criticized them bothered to shoot them an email and ask what’s going on? Other than the request made by Uncle_Fun, has anyone asked them to do anything about their logs or photos? Has anyone bothered to find out where they heard about Geocaching and who, if anyone, parented this couple? Perhaps they are doing what someone did before them. All of this seems like a personal attack and we at the WGA don’t do that, right? I for one plan to send them an email and see how they’re doing…who knows after that!

Amazing how much his site looks like geocaching.com…coicidence?…guy seems really original…and an unexperienced geocacher in my mind, but he does give fair warning of the spoiling nature of the pictures. Everyone is up to their own opinion and we all should experience the cache to determine what “we” think about it. Would be nice though if he is going to give detailed, spoiling accounts that he would atleast encrypt the text. I figure most of us won’t determine whether we go to a cache based on these accounts. My advice…just don’t look at the pictures and as far as feeling being hurt because of these blunt comments, well…I think they will have little value to the geocaching community.just my .02

If that was my Cache page, I might opt to accidentally DELETE that post! Oooooops!

ROFLMBO u r 2 funny Miata……….can I go to??? LOL
Just wanted to let you know that I will soon have out a series of 12 that are light hearted and easier finds. Great series to get the kids out for. They will be easy due to the nature of the areas and the purpose for putting them in these areas, though stealth is a must. Hope this helps to counter some of the tricky ones and gives kids and adults some nice easy finds….the scenery is nice too. Watch for “The Old Fishin’ Hole” series… coming to a County near you. NOw don’t be tellin me they’re TOO easy!!! LOL

I wonder what people are considering as “JUNK” I love pins, squished pennies and wooden coins. Sure I have gone to caches and found bottle caps and other garbage in them. It happens! I just take that out and put in a couple other things. It’s not about what’s IN the cache. That’s NOT the sport. It’s FINDING the cache. I have as much or more fun finding the mircos, but it’s nice to find a cache box once in a while too. Sure.. it would be nice to find $5 gift cards in these, but come on already!!Try Treasure hunting with a medal detector. Talk about disappointment after disappointment. Been there, done that, switched to Geocaching!!

“The Gauntlet” Been there… done that….will do it again !I Love my Magellin SporTrac Pro. It has lots of neat features that I am learnign hownto use. Get’s me within a cpl feet on most occasions. That is unless the person placing the cache is off on their coords. The key thing there might be that people are taking the first reading they get and not letting their GPSr go thru the averaging process. Just a theory though. I could be wrong… I was once before !! Monday’s MQOTD …Does anybody else love being outside in the woods so much, that they sniff their geocaching stuff (ie. geo-pack, GPSr, geo-etc) in the middle of the week, to bring back the weekend’s sensory memories.
I’m guessing this sounds strange … but I went deaf in one ear about 3 years ago, and my nose has since become more “in tune”. At work people have me guess what they’re having for lunch by smelling it from another room.
I was just wondering if I’m the only geocacher in Wisconsin that smells.

Enjoy yourselves… BE careful and have a awesome time you’ll be able to talk about for a long time. If this wasn’t Hubby’s b-day this weekend, I’d come and join ya. Of course, I’d let you guys make all the desicions. I’d just enjoy the looooooong hike and the view and encourage everyone onward. I gotta say, I STILL have some sore spots!! I have not taken the dog for at all this week. Poor puppy is feeling neglected.
