Well no wonder I can’t get good caching plates… you guys snagged em up already!
I WAS thinking of getting my cars TB sticker in a custom plate, since I just bought a new car and don’t have it stickered up yet. But wouldn’t that be weird…. getting a “custom” plate with a random combination of letters and numbers?
And only about 10% of those were FTF’s…. You two are slipping. 8)
Remember….it’s not about the numbers… 😯
Sorry, I had to say it. 8)
I was planning on buying a new tent JUST for the camp-out this year…so from this thread I think I need…
1)External keg storage w/ inner tap
2)A REALLY long extension cord
3)Extra heavy duty sound insulating walls
4)and a holster.Does that cover it all?
05/30/2008 at 4:09 pm in reply to: Any Must Hit Caches in Madison or on the way to Madison?? #1889804We hit 3-4 of the Leopold series on our way home from the Camp-out. They REALLY made me want to do all the rest if I had had the time.
The best of the bunch is one atop a good sized hill. The wind was just right, and the trees nearby were perfectly placed, so that RIGHT after we opened the cache, a ROAR of applause and cheering from an out-of-sight sports field nearby engulfed us! With the way the wind carried the sound around the hill, it felt like we had 20,000 people cheering our find!
So if you do “JULY” in the series, make sure to try it on a Sunday in the early afternoon, and you to will know the feeling of being the Rock Star CACHER!
Great shots! Thanks for adding one more to my list of “must-do’s” when I head to Chicago this fall.
I sure like the High Cliff idea……but I agree it would work better for the 2009 camp-out. As long as one of the two is there, I’ll be happy.
Man…I wish I could find one of those in a cache up here….. heck of a trade for a whistle ring if you ask me:)
How do you fit that carrier in the ammo can?
yes….and yes:)
Hey…. you guys heard about that book where the killer posts clues in geocaches right……………well maybe….. that guy…..was the KILLER!!!
No milestone is lame as long as you put in the effort to get it! WAY TO GO!!
😯 Maybe groundspeak will need to add a rating for “PERV factor” for places like this… 😯
These are all good points… I don’t always pull out the made up story line, as most of the time I just hit playgrounds with my kids in tow, or do them a 5 in the morning when the kids are all still in bed….(or else they SHOULD be!)
But once in a while, you are standing at the edge of a park near the sign, with NO REASON to be there other than the bush right next to you, when a car pulls in the driveway 20 feet across the street from you, and hits you with the LOOK.
Now this is no ordinary look. This is the look of the President of the home-owners association, Parks Department civilian task force, local newspaper citizen patrol on speed dial, does not want ANYONE to have fun in HER park kind of look….
THEN, you need to roll with the bike lock story, or else she would be on the phone tree calling in an emergency meeting of the parks committee community prevention patrol, and get every cache banned from every park in the tri-county area….
I DO NOT nor will I ever suggest, making up stories when law enforcement or parks officials are involved……but sneaking one by the soccer moms, or the construction worker who pulls up to eat his lunch when you are at a guard rail cache, is all part of the fun of the game!
Sometimes I will explain the game and try to get them on board, but sometimes you can just “tell” about people. I guess it is all in how well you can read someones personality.
Oh GREAT…… one MORE person to be ahead of me in all the log books:)
Congrats all the same!:)
I will HIGHLY second this one. In fact, I nominated for cache of the month this month already….
And I did this one in my first 50 finds so you have some company:)
And it took 3 trips and a few emails to get the first part figured out too! It’s a LOT easier after you figure out how INSANELY detailed the clues are for this puzzler…:)
