And when that got snapped, we were about halfway back from Shocking truth/ I dare you….
….or else there would have been 2 more hat wearers.
What has been said above, I could not say any better, so I will just add…
DITTO!
These two were the reason we didn’t make it back in time for the group photo. 🙁 It took longer than we had planned for.
And even though it kicked my butt (those of you who met me on the trails may have noticed my round-ness) , it was worth it for a wonderful view of the park!
Nothing in the world can motivate this fat guy to climb a big hill more than a Geocache!
$400 worth of Chocolate?!?!?! That made my already strained belt GROAN in protest.
Well, at least it’s organic.
I go to Berlin, WI every week or so. I am going there tonight in fact.
it wouldn’t be TOO far out of my way to go through there on the way to/from the camp-out either.
I might be able to help you out with that.
Oh, it won’t keep me from attending…..just cuts in to the sausage budget…
YOWZERS! I might have to learn to kayak after seeing the prices for the ferry! 😯 That’ll cost more than the gas to get up there! Although, the difference is getting smaller by the day….
Well played! I’ll have to grab that one on my way to the Rock Island event…
We are cool. 8) Like I said, I meant no disrespect or argument. Just giving a different view on things and I think TyeDyeSkyGuy was just doing the same. We can all get along AND have different opinions….. that’s what make the world such a great place!
Being a patriot for your country does not always mean grabbing a gun.
I never saw Ben Franklin carrying a rifle against the British. Does anyone question he was a patriot?
I never saw Bob Hope with a gun. But you ask the MILLIONS of troops who’s days were better because he was there to make them laugh in the field.
This is not a bash on you or your research, all of which holds truth. But I wanted to point out that military service is not a requirement for patriotism.
05/13/2008 at 8:10 pm in reply to: Discussion of not logging temps, starting with this event #1888688Ry and Ny,
I see your point and I agree with it in almost everything. The only place I differ is your relation to the matter as a “lifestyle”. It is not the same thing. That is like taking your baseball team to a game, and wanting to log extra runs for each cup in the stands, or each car in the lot, while the other team doesn’t do that. You can’t say “but I think we should be able to” when there is a standard set of rules.
If you want to play by different rules, start your own league. That’s what the city did in your story. they went to the rules makers, and had the rules changed to fit their wants and needs.
I don’t care if people log temps or not either, I really don’t. If there wasn’t a rule, I would LOVE to log them since I DO love looking at my numbers. I just am a follow the rules kind of guy I guess. I don’t speed. I never tried any drugs. I follow the rules. I just think that people using the “I want to play by MY rules” are just not seeing the big picture.
Fine, play by YOUR rules. Just don’t ask us to change OUR rules to suite your tastes, or get mad when we chastise you for breaking them.
Note: This is not critical of anyone in any way. As I read back I see it sounds sort of snippy, and that is not my intent. I just feel A LOT of people are missing the point. Not in any negative way, just pointing out a different view on it maybe. (Plus I LOVE reading really long posts full of passion on a subject, so maybe this will get a few more out of some of you. 8) )
you COULD always call it “the real estate game that everybody has a copy of in their closet” event cache…..

we alL know, but
is CopYwritten!when I first read the post I thought it SCREAMED event to me, but having never been to one I couldn’t confirm that…. but still looks like you will have that ready for the picnic right? nudge nudge wink wink hint hint.
Well, I think the “found” got changed to “attended” because it seemed rather stupid to say you “found” and event.
Logging temps or not I don’t care, I was just thinking that this seems a more likely reason as to why it was changed…. but I could be wrong.
