I paid 3.61 this morning. That’s over $75.00 to fill my car!

Yes. that is a dilemma that will need to be figured out, but with some of the new softwares I have been searhcing around, and some of the “skype” style of things, you could do a show over a phone with minimal quality issues. All the “on-site” and “cache-alongs” could easily be done over a phone call, or even with a small Digital recorder that can be had very cheaply.

it could ALSO be done using “field reporters” to get a nice spread around the state for the interviews and “cache-along”

BTW, the idea of going along with someone on a cache hunt while you interview them is a SOLID idea!! I’ve already coined the phrase “cache-along”

You hit the nail right on the head. We don’t need to cover GPS reviews or field equipment so much, those are covered. I was thinking maybe even a monthly or bi-weekly type of thing just about Wisconsin specific stuff, like events and what not. I’m not looking to have another hour long show (though that WOULD be cool if we had the content) spouting the exact same news and notes all over again.

Maybe a cache of the month section where people can call in to a voice mail line and explain why they think cache XYZ is a great cache! Or phone in milestones or FTF hunts (I know that is a rip off of those “other”shows, but if I set up a voice mail, darn it I’m going to use it!)

Have some interviews at the big events, maybe a “funny Wisconsin caching” story section….(It could be titled “Why I had to buy new pants at three am 275 miles from home!” or “Honestly Honey, you should see how much mud I DID get cleaned off before I came in the house” or “Honest officer, it is a game using a GPS, I’m not making a ‘drug drop'”)

    Just some ideas….

Well I HAVE heard about dead people getting elected to political office before….

Now I am wondering how COOL a cache would be that it needs a DEAD guy to log it…. 10 star difficulty maybe? 😯

Well, my Garmin $@D $&@N $!#@E %F $#!* just got replaced with a Colorado…then I realizes I have been using it for over a year with WAAS disabled. So now I feel bad….. but not bad enough to go back to it….

BTW, I am FROM Colorado. born and raised, and I can’t think of any name prettier than that. except for Holle which is my Mother and Daughter’s name. But that doesn’t count:)

Is that 2 PEOPLE? or two “camps”? not sure how the group thing works, but I am 99% sure that we are going to make it now, 2 of use for sure, but it might be 4 total, so how does that work?

As a fellow “newbie”ish person, let me say you came to the right spot! Everyone here has been super cool and helpful! If you get in the Oshkosh / Fox Cities area maybe we can hook up for some caches!

I started listening to it.. got the first little bit. will work on it more over lunch!

in reply to: A new beginning! #1888293

I am in Oshkosh. But I now work in Fon du Lac, so I have been starting to “clean up” a few down here on my lunch breaks.

I can’t WAIT to get out and bike a few of the “caching” trails this summer. I might be taking it a bit slower since I am not anywhere NEAR the shape I used to be in, but you gotta start somewhere right? And I figure, “hey one more cache is only .5 mile down the road….I can push it farther…” Now that’s MY kind of motivation!

I got two more today while I was waiting for a report to get bound at staples. now I juts hope my Garmin Colorado gets here in time for my 100th find since I KNOW I am going to hit it this weekend!
