i’m using a palm pilot and cachemate to get my cache info now, but the palm is dying.
I used to use an old Palm and Cachemate, but my Palm died as well. The iPhone makes it nice and easy, no need to run a PQ or sync to the Palm, it is all right there. Get near a cache and just use the “Nearby Cache” feature.
I use my iPhone for Geocaching. What is nice about the new version 2.0 of the Geocaching app is that you can save information about a cache to your phone, and get at it even if you are offline or can’t get a signal or don’t want to wait for the EDGE network to kick in.
I don’t use my phone to take me to a cache, I just use it for the cache information.
Does anyone know when Green Bay and the Valley are going to get 3G…it is LONG overdue!
We take the “no stealth” method in most cases. If we are going for the “stealth” we always use the method of looking over each other’s shoulder, never look over your own. I have no problem breaking out our “speech” that we give to non-cachers who inquire what we are doing. Or if we feel like someone is REALLY watching us, we walk over and initiate the coversation with them. It could be a great time to introduce them to caching or promote the WI-Geocaching Association. Maybe something like, “You should join, we have a great new logo.”

It’s only about 7 miles away (that’s very close by our standards)
Isn’t there a seperate forum for people like you? You might be addicted to geocaching if…
😀
I always wonder what they do with all of those membership fees. You would think they could fix some of these bugs. Hey…at least you can enter what type of GPS you use! 🙄

You return from your lunch hour .. tracking mud across the building, with mud on your pants, and a big smile on your face because you got an FTF.

Does GSAK work on a mac?
This has probably been answered somewhere before, but I feel lazy.
Thanks for the help

I also don’t think our “new” logo should resemble other states. Here is the Washington State Logo…
Just my opinion
Here is just a quote to what I wrote in APRIL…voting started in June.
That being said, I just want to thank the board for all of their work on this. I have no problems with the logo, i think that putting the “newer” geocaching symbol in the middle of the state of wisconsin would have been a nice touch though.
The app was actually on sale the day we got our phones!! We got it for $2. I just haven’t had the time to test it out.
That is great information, zuma.
Is there a map that shows ice depth estimates for lakes and bays??

I really do not see what that would serve. Look at the list – no one is ‘rescuing’ them anyways.
That is my point marc. Maybe more people would rescue caches, if they were aware when new missions were posted.
My math mind can’t understand 16K finds. If you cache for 5 years and cache EVERY SINGLE DAY. You would need to average almost nine finds a day!
A HUGE CONGRATS, ECORANGERS!!!

Here are some of the Wisconsin multi’s that I really enjoyed this past year:
GC1AJ55 Prebles and Bam-Bam
….
There are more, but I think if you look at these caches you will get an idea of the range of possibility and fun you can have finding a multi.
zuma
Alright we made the list. Three other caches that I would add are,
GC14HW3 Lost in Josten
GCGVW1 A Little Piece of the Wilderness Loop
GC12CQ3 Cache an Insect
Congrats Keith!!
Congrats Justin!!!
