I definately support the WGA support of the CITO events. If I didn’t, I would be going against one of WGA’s main purpose in our bylaws.

I feel that the forums as they are work well for us. If elected, I will happily take on the role of aiding in the moderation of the forums. Yes, I also knew that it was a responsibility of the BOD.

I will be doing my best to do so.

    Brian,

Besides geocaching, I really enjoy camping, fishing, and traveling. I really enjoy seeing new places, fishing small lakes that are no-wake lakes, and spending nights under the stars. Doing all three at the same time is a bonus!

If you behave, I can add you to the judges list.

    Mathman,

I envision that others will say that I fullfilled my main goal that I have created a perminant bond between WGA and Leave No Trace. This bond would help be the driving force of WGA fullfilling their objective to support and promote Leave No Trace (see bylaws). I feel that as State Advocate for Leave No Trace and as Master Educator, I am the best person who can make this happen.

My answer would be no and yes!

    No- see avove comments

Yes- only on limited items. I feel that offering geocoins and pathtags could be something that can be done fulltime. Clothing- definately NOT something we should do fulltime.

Personally, I would have to say leadership and direct connection to Leave No Trace.

Leadership- As a youth many years ago- Senior Patrol Leader for 4 straight years for Troop 16 in West Allis, WI (Troop size was 60 youth). As an adult, I led a Cub Scout Pack from decline to a solid pack. After Cub Master, I tool a troop of 3 and turned that program to a troop that has expanded nicely.

Direct Connections- As Wisconsin State Advocate for Leave No Trace, I have direct contact with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. With this direct connection, I will be able to help promote LNT within the WGA, aquire needed supplies at a heavily discounted price (Ex, geocaching hang tags), and turn that around to promote WGA in the Outdoor Ethics Community as a strong leader in Outdoor Ethic Awareness.

    Hi neighbor! well sort of!

Welcome to the Caching Community! Echo what Blackcat stated, there are tons of nice winter accessable caches. Keep on having fun caching!

I haven’t via news articles but whenever I do awareness sessions or LNT Trainer sessions, I have been incorperating geocaching. One of the hand tags for Leave No Trace I hand out is specifically designed for geocaching. Plus, since my plates on my car is “CACHE”, I often have to answer questions on what that means which always ends up talking about geocaching.

I reside in Wausau, WI. Yes, the majority of my finds come from here but I have also hit most of the state except for the NW corner. My most memorable cache to date would be You Picked a Fine time to Leave Me Lucille, http://coord.info/GCJWPT

What made this cache very enjoyabe was that I was with great friends and fellow Cachers.

Thank you for the question Brian. Yes, volunteering is an important part of my life. Currently I hold 2 very important volunteer positions that I carry out. The first one is Wisconsin State Advocate for Leave No Trace, and the second volunteer position is Council Outdoor Ethics Advocate for Samoset Council, Boy Scouts of America. On paper, it may look like alot however, both positions mirror each other and compliments each other as well.

If elected, being a volunteer on the BOD would not be a distraction from my current roles. On contrary, it will help my volunteer roles that I currently have. My major responsibility as Wisconsin State Advocate is educating people on outdoor ethics. One of my main goals if elected as BOD would be to promote outdoor ethics via Leave No Trace. I personally feel this would be a great pairing and would help me further be better in all my volunteer roles.

So far, I have the Winter Bonfire and Spring Campout set in stone on my calendar (I am currently on both committees). I will be at the WBCB tending to the Leave No Trace Booth. I will be trying to attend some of the WGA CITOS as well, if I cannot attend, I will be able to show support by sending LNT Geocaching Hang Tags that can be handed out as well.
