Cathunter and I paddled our sea kayaks from Washington Island to Rock Island last year. How long it takes to paddle across to the island is totally dependent on what Lake Michigan feels like being that day, your experience on Lake Michigan, and your equipment.
Our experience last year when we paddled across, there hadn’t been any wind on the door county pen. for about three days. The water was clear and smooth like glass. I don’t think it took us very long to get over to the beach, i want to say maybe 30-45 minutes.
(Did a calculation with google maps and its says its about 1.4 miles.)
You might want to check if you’re logged onto GC.com, I’ve found they appear after I sign in.

are you talking about the person that didn’t write a log in the book at the cache?
I would enjoy doing the evening hike to the haunted cemetery as well as the caches placed along the way up to Rock Island might be fun.
Russ and I have Site #1 reserved, so let us know of the group events so that we may join everyone.
I can’t wait to join everyone back up at the Island. See you then.

I beleive you can go to Vince’s Geocaching with Condella, and you will be able to watch it online.
Here’s the link, I hope I do this right.

I’d be happy to lend mine out, I just have the Yellow Etrex. I can drop it off sometime when I come around the area to visit with my parents in New Glarus.

I will put this in my calendar, see you there!

Does anyone want to make a list of food to bring and share with the group camp sites?
I went on a camping trip in April with 15 people and each person brought something different (see draft list below).
I will volunteer to cook at least 1-2 meals for the group and clean-up after.

Cacher_Chick is planning to ride up with me and she didn’t like my idea of “wading” to Rock Island if we missed the last karfi.
I’ll only wade over if the lake mysteriously warms up to about 75 degrees

I’m downtown too if you want to go sometime, I think that would be great.
