Our cache has been approved. There and Back Again – A Geocacher’s Tale GCJZTP http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=07d94bb2-0b4d-4212-a99b-b6a1ccdfd747
For those who were interested, we placed the cache this weekend and have submitted it for approval tonight. I’ll post the link as soon as the powers that be approve it
Nick
of The CacheseekersWe placed a Jeep TB in our new cache this weekend. I’ll post it’s link once it’s approved.
Nick
of The CacheseekersI’ve been debating on us dropping one off in the Artful Dodger (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=27e48741-117b-4b65-be2a-ece1add44195) as that is a pretty intensive cache. We’ll be placing our “hard multicache” next weekend. The final on this one may require a canoe, so it may be for some serious cachers only
Nick
of The CacheseekersWe found one recently and have been eager to get it moving along. We’re in the middle of planning a pretty extensive multi-cache with some friends to be placed in about a week and a half and were thinking it’d be great to place it. Originally we wanted to place it locally this past weekend but as live tends to do, our plans were changed
I always hate having TB’s with every intention to place them soon and then it doesn’t happen for a bit longer than you had expected.
Nick
of The CacheseekersThanks for all of the great input. I’ll be sure to post an update to the forums here once we deploy the cache(s)
Nick
of The CacheseekersWe spotted a Jeep in the cache “Get Your TISCH Out Here!” and couldn’t pass up a chance at it. This was a great cache with a Jeep 4X4 bonus
I suspect we will be taking the Jeep for a drive to a local cache in Madison soon
Nick
of The CacheseekersOh well isn’t that our luck, we made a trip up to the Dells last night to pick up a gift certificate and decided to try the two caches in Mirror Lake that had Jeep TB’s in it since no one had logged it yet. Came to found out that both caches the Jeeps were retrieved from earlier in the day! Worst of all, one of the jeeps is going to be taken out of state
People stealing our jeeps for their own state, how rude
Oh well, we were able to retrieve a regular TB anyways. The mosquito’s were horrible! But atleast we have 2 more finds now

of The CacheseekersSounds like it was an exciting weekend with distributing TB’s. We took advantage of this weekend to camp in Mirror Lake and hike Devil’s Lake with some friends. All of our friends had never been Geocaching so we took them on the Devils Lake West Bluff cache .
After spending the day hiking all over Devil’s Lake we were pretty exhausted to headed back to Madison. We were going to do a few caches at Mirror Lake but opted to come back in a few weeks to let our bodies recoperate.
I later saw this morning that some Jeep TB’s were placed at some of the Mirror Lake caches. Slightly depressing in missing those But on the bright side, we’ve got a few friends now that are getting into Geocaching and are wanting to track down some of the Jeep TB’s.
If anyone has more of the Jeep TB’s to be placed, I’d highly suggest placing one in the Devil’s Lake West Bluff cache as it is a very big challenge to get to and it seems that 2 other groups over the weekend were not able to find it.

of The CacheseekersI remember discussing this awhile back at the meeting in Fitchburg. Caemig had gotten special permission to place this cache in the area for a school project. No doubt GrouseTales will get to the bottom of it though

I don’t have any PDA devices yet to do pocket queries so this question may not fit. But is it possible for you to e-mail the querie(s) that are being tagged as viruses? I could take a look at it on my FreeBSD box and see if I spot any malicious code.
I wouldn’t be surprised if norton thinks it is seeing some sort of macro though. This is very curious because if it is possible to spread viruses through pocket queries or GPX files that are retrieved off of geocaching.com’s server it could be a big problem.

Yeah, that is the one that went out of business. They had another name too when we did a search.
I would think with a city like Madison they would have a surplus store. hehe
Oh don’t I feel like a newbie. I just found the answer to my question. I’ll paste it here incase anyone happens upon this ‘problem’ also.
Why doesn’t my subscription ID work for my account?

Glad to see some more good in the media spotlight! This summer for us has been all about telling our friends and family about geocaching but until our Honeymoon last week it’s been “all talk, no caching”. hehe
Now that our wedding is done I’m hoping we’ll be able to shift into some cacheing gears
Time for catchup on WI Geocaching news too for us
