What’s the general area where your caches are turning up missing?

    Sucks that it’s happening though

I don’t have a list, nor do I know of any other caches besides ours GCJZTP “There and Back Again – A Geocacher’s Tale”

Technically I guess you could swim it but I wouldn’t suggest it

Yep I’ve got a lot of tools that I use on my laptops to get wifi. We didn’t bring along a directional antenna to extend the range when we were out. Not to mention while being in some of the state parks well away from wifi spots

Someday this stuff will get cheaper

I’ve uploaded one of the 3 images I took when we found it. http://wi-geocaching.com/cgi-bin/slide2/album.pl?photo=00000079/magellansm.jpg;photo_height=500 I’ll upload the other two after a week or so incase others are going to go look for it.

Sad enough, with all the excitement I failed to take a picture of the surrounding area. Just close ups!

oh well, some is better than none!

    Good Times.. Good Times

Beat by Cathunter and the Waukesha Wizards by 10-15 minutes or so.

Not 10 minutes after we decided to keep busy w/ a 4/4 cache in Paradise Springs do we get a msg w/ coords. 😛 Needless to say we were somehow able to re-route ourselves to the Nature Center within an amazingly short time (The gps has a top speed listed at 116MPH but I’m -sure- it wasn’t that fast), but not short enough

If the coords would have came out the same time yesterday, I would have been about .75 miles away from it 😛

Oh well, still got a hat!!!! Great fun, just wish we would have had a semi solid schedule when clues/coords would be released throughout the weekend.

Welp, on the bright side with this ‘spare’ time I’ve been able to fix the IR issue w/ my cell phone and now have GPRS capabilities again w/ the laptop

Kind of curious how many others are out at different ‘posts’ waiting for -the- call

in reply to: New Magellan Contest #1738044

Hrm. Wish those coords would be released. I was hoping the time in Adventure 2 would be the time they all were released but I guess not. I think we found the totem that others have been visiting but nothing else yet…

This is making for a long day. I hope the coords come out today

    waukesha Wizards –

    You’re not the only one!!!!!!

it’s hard to find a wireless access point in this area for some reason. Took us 2 hours!!

in reply to: New Magellan Contest #1738038

Yeah. We’ve got a couple ideas and have had a few people out scouting the areas. The recent post about it being “Go! Go! Go! veterans park Milwaukee” bugged me because everything is pointing -not- in that area, and that’s pretty darn close to where the cache was last year

Can’t wait for another ‘real’ clue Todays didn’t seem to help much. Sounded like the Denny’s coords was more to get WI Geocachers together and to discuss ideas. Then this “wrench” from Paul A: ” However, the coordinates may have some significance in resolving the location of the lost treasure.” really got me wondering.. hehe

So, anyone else getting annoyed by out of state people posting ‘ideas’ that probably don’t have anything to do w/ the correct area?

in reply to: New Magellan Contest #1738034

I’m somewhat expecting a Journal Entry 3 today for Adventure 3. Over the past hour the other two adventures have been updated with more clues.

The bright totem really has me stumped other than the light from the city The only other thing I can think of is a lighthouse, but I don’t know of any around that area of the state. Or bodies of water big enough to warrant one…

On the topic of the John Muir trail, I found this website: http://my.execpc.com/~jwamser/KettleSouth.html

There is a trail map posted there. Might be of use for clues if it is infact in that area.

Anyone else having problems posting a note on the magellan website? I keep getting ‘site maintenance’ message, yet I see new posts ever few minutes or so. Not just by the Paul Afetta character too

Can’t wait to see this migrate to phpBB. I’ve configured it a few times and have used it at other various sites. It’s great, so long as it is kept up to date with the latest code. It tends to get ‘hacked’ somewhat often and they release fixes for it regularly. Still a great board. I love being able to subscribe to threads and forums

Doused made me think of Dousman and Old World reminded me of Old World Wisconsin. Which is pretty much inbetween Dousman and Whitewater.. Ice Age Trail makes sense too for Old World…

    Fun Fun Fun
