We hid “WRR 11 – Steele Road” today and submitted it for review.
Go to Garmin’s website and download/install their webupdater program. Then, run it with the unit attached by USB. It’ll check for and install any needed software update.
Problem solved. It was just a matter of updating the software on the unit. Once the latest version was installed, it works fine.
Our bad-it’s actually a Vista CX.

OK-we’re up to speed on the new PQ procedure. But, yesterday, we ran a “My finds” PQ and got the e-mail notification (“Ready for download…). However, when we went to the PQ page and clicked on the downloads tab, it wasn’t there and still isn’t today. Our PQ’s that run regularly are there, though. Anybody know what might be going on here?
You can sign us up for RR29 too. We forgot that Snake Road is a rustic road-we’ve run on that hilly critter many times!
We could do R11, R12, and R36. All are within a couple of miles of our house. Mate’s on a road trip this weekend, but when she gets back we’ll get to work on it.
We hope you decide to keep your hides available. We’ve found quite a few and have certainly enjoyed them. It would be a real loss if they were to be archived.
We live on a rustic road and there’s another about a mile away. Never thought about putting a cache here, but we’ll take a look and see what places might be available. We’d be glad to place one if there’s a good spot.
We have a device from Verizon. We’ve had it about a year and are pretty happy with it. We run it on both our computers, but not at the same time, so we can’t help with that part of the question. We were in the same boat before-living in the country, which is great, but with access only to dial-up or satellite.
We plan to be there and will have one cache ready to hide.
Thanks-we’ll look into that. If there’s a problem we’ll take you up on your offer.
Resets are done by pressing a sequence of the buttons you normally use (although we’re not sure which ones or even if that will solve the problem). Garmin customer service is usually pretty good, although the wait on the phone is long sometimes. Give them a call and describe the problem. They’ll be able to either figure out the answer or offer some options. We had an eTrex Legend Cx that was out of warranty conk out once and they sent us another one (refurbished) for nothing.
