Wow-that’s impressive! We may be doing caches in our walkers before we get to where you guys are.

We’ll usually give these a try, but are sometimes disappointed that the area of the hide gets torn up by people searching. It’s hard to know where the line between a good, tough hide and one that’s over the top is.

Had issues with my Map60CSx and was out of warranty and replaced it free of charge and was sent in and received back in 5 days.

We had a similar experience with a Garmin unit. Who else replaces stuff that’s out of warranty free with no questions asked?

I couldn’t figure out why Greendale police would be calling other than caching. I guess my stroll over to the trees and minute and a half in there freaked somebody out passing by. Like I was a terrorist going to blow up some trees!

We couldn’t figure how they knew to call you, but then realized the person who called it in gave them your license plate #.

I recieved a phone call today from the Greendale police department. Here is the email I sent the owner of the cache:

    Hi
I was out doing a couple of the battleship series. B1 and the other just up the block on Root River Pkwy. I guess I looked suspicous to somebody because they called the cops on me. The police officer requested that you call him to give him some info. I’m not sure if they did it but he mentioned the bomb squad being called out. His name is officer (___) . I think he just wants to know about them.

As you see he mentioned the bomb squad. I am not sure if they were actually called out or not on this one. This was a wierd call in that I just wasn’t expecting something like this. I have been stopped plenty of times while caching, but never called on it.

I’m wondering what happened with the sticker idea? This might have saved some effort on alot of peoples time. I’m wondering too if maybe magnetic bumperstickers (I hate the regular ones!) or something might help? I do place the placard in the windshield from the Cache Bash about caching in the area, but you have to walk up to my truck to see it.

That’s interesting. We DNF’d it just a few days after you logged your find. Maybe the police removed it as others have also DNF’d this week. It’s strange you got a phone call from the police. Never heard of that before. 😕

in reply to: Listening to music while caching #1926431

We haven’t actually listened to music on the iPod while caching, but since our Palm conked out, we’ve been using GSAK to load the notes on it. That’s been working well-no fumbling with the little stylus. We’re considering an iPod Touch in the near future.

Congrats to Butler for making it to the final four. That will be a big boon to the recruiting in the Horizon League, especially UWGB.

Butler is a great team, but they are playing MSU in the semis, so we won’t be able to root for them unless they make the final game.

No debate, read the transcript if you like.

Team Vaughn is apparently a fan of Mr. L., which is fine, and we obviously are not. However, further discussion of this would send the thread in another direction. Thank you for disagreeing in an agreeable manner-the country could use a lot more of that these days.

in reply to: new health care legislation #1925727

Well, that’s debatable, but, in any case, he did mention Costa Rica as his destination…..a country which has universal health care. Opponents of health care reform, like Rush, are always saying our health care system is the greatest in the world and doesn’t need all this reform. That’s pretty amusing!

in reply to: new health care legislation #1925720

We decided some time ago that so much misinformation and outright lies were being tossed about that it became almost impossible to figure out what the truth really is regarding healthcare reform. We’ll leave the “awfulizing” to others and adopt a wait-and-see attitude as to how this all shakes out. Besides, Mr. Limbaugh recently said he’d leave the country if the legislation passed. One can only hope he’s a man of his word. 🙄

We have a TB called “Cheeseheads in Paradise”-it’s “quasi-cheese” in the shape of Wisconsin. We love the “cheese coin” idea! 8)

Actually, we think all the designs so far are good. There hasn’t been one we didn’t like. Kudos to everyone who has submitted their ideas. 😀
