I did just notice that the 1350 model isn’t listed in my version of GSAK (We still have version 7). However, there is a “Nuvi (generic)” choice which, hopefully, would work.
Actually, it’s not a separate macro. Pull down the “GPS” menu at the top, then click “setup”. Choose Garmin for the brand and select the model you have from the choices. Then, just connect the nuvi with a USB cable and turn it on. Once it goes into “mass storage” mode (I think that’s what it’s called), you can pull down the GPS menu and select “send waypoints”. This will send all the waypoints in the current database (you can filter them any way you want before sending them). There is also a “setup” choice on the “send waypoints” menu. The cache waypoints should be saved in the “favorites” folder on the nuvi.
Yay! Glad to hear that worked!
We load our 1450 straight from GSAK and have not had any problems. Of course, if you’re not into GSAK, then this isn’t much help. We’ve never tried the POI loader, so we can’t offer any solutions for your issue.
We own 4 roadside micros within a few miles of our house. There’s nothing creative or challenging about them, but they are all part of the Rustic Road (WRR) series. The idea of the series was to showcase Wisconsin’s rustic roads and create a series that enables finders to qualify for a challenge cache. There’s a place for roadside micros along with all the other types of caches. For us, this variety is what makes the game fun.
We’re down in the southeastern section. Let us know if you have any questions about caches in the area or just caching in general. Welcome-it’s a lot of fun!
For terrain, you can make it reflect the final, but make it clear in the cache description that some of the required caches will be tougher. Difficulty should probably be the overall difficulty of finding all the caches needed for the challenge, and this could also be explained in the description.
We did some of Zuma’s caches in L.L. Phillips county park and nearby Tower Ridge yesterday and had a lot of fun. The whole area is a very cache-rich environment and we always enjoy caching here. GCF748 (UWEC area) is a nice multi that we recommend. Note: Hunting is allowed at Tower Ridge so wear orange if you cache there.
Congratulations! It was great to meet you guys on the trail Friday.
Our local high school has an Outdoor Adventures class as part of the phys. ed. curriculum. One part of that class is geocaching and they have searched for one of our caches which is hidden not too far from the school. We were a little nervous at first, but, so far, everything’s been fine.

There are too many players in this game who think they are hot stuff because they have X00s of caches placed out there when they only have the wherewithal and/or provisions in place to care for a fraction of that amount.
That pretty well sums up what we were thinking, too.

Just to save us all a lot of trouble, Groundspeak does not allow linking to this particular website on cache pages. (There are a few still out there, but none in Wisconsin that I have found.)
There are quite a few that copy and paste the text from that site, which doesn’t seem that different from simply including the link.
Perhaps for that $5.00 they could offer a limited time (a month or 2?) of premium features with the hope of increasing premium memberships.

That’s weird – I completed the survery under our family account (i.e. non-premium) and they asked if I’d be willing to pay $19.99 / year for a premium membership.
Now that’s weird, since I was thinking ours said “$36.99.” Our current memebership is premium.

I recieved an email from groundspeak this week asking to fill out a survey for them. One of the questions was “Would you be willing to pay $34.99 for a yearly premium membership?”. Looks to me like they are thinking or are going to have a price increase in the future.
We filled out the survey last night and said “No” even though we’d probably pay it, although not happily.
