I think that listing the specific tasks needed to be done along with time slots and then asking people to sign up would be step 1. Then if a task is not filled, I would reach out to cachers that haven’t volunteered yet but attend the events regularly and explain what needs to be done and ask for their help. By having specific tasks outlined, you shouldn’t have an excess of people with nothing to do. Once their job is done, they are able to go enjoy the event. I think short time frames are key. People are more willing to give up an hour or two of their time versus a whole day.

I absolutely love Mrs. book lovers answer to this question! Having a geocaching “disneyland” would be amazing.

I also would like to make more of a partnership with DNR, Parks and Rec, Forest Dept., State Parks etc. to help spread the word to them about geocaching. Share how we can help them with CITO’s, trail blazing/maintaining, and promoting parks and trails with events. Create some sort of liason to help with any problems or concerns that arise with Geocaching so we don’t lose any more areas.

I would love to have the WGA shop expand and open year round with the option of shipping. Especially during the Christmas season.

Have a group of experienced puzzle cache solvers travel to different areas (expenses paid) and hold Puzzle Solving 101 classes.

With no lack of funds, the possibilities are endless! Maybe we should buy some lottery tickets. Ha!

I have experience using Word and Excel when I was working.  After I retired I haven’t really had a need to use them so I would have to do a little refresher to be up to date. I also used Slack when we put together the Yellowstone Trail Adventure Lab series. I assume Teams is quite similar. I am usually able to pick up on technology quite quickly if given a little instruction. I was usually the person that was trained first when we had new computer sytems installed and then I trained the other employees . I feel I wouldn’t have too much of problem in this area.

I think it’s great that events are spread out throughout the state. What a great way to explore areas we may not normally see. As long as they keep rotating I think the current method is working well. WGA is for ALL Wisconsin geocachers.

The last few years I was unable to commit because we had 2 elderly dogs that we didn’t want to leave at kennels for any length of time. Unfortunately, both have now crossed the rainbow bridge. That is why I felt now was a good time to run as we have nothing holding us back anymore. I can now commit to the WGA fully and already have all events marked on the calendar for the coming year.

I worked with the public for over 30 years (retail and pharmacy tech). I encountered all kinds of people and personalities. I had to interact with people who were angry, upset, confused and still maintain a professional persona. One of my best skills is listening. I found if I listen carefully there is something to learn from most people.

I also enjoy planning events. From geocaching events to family gatherings to vacations, I really like figuring out the details. It’s so fun to see it all come together at the end.

My biggest weakness would probably be the WGA website! I couldn’t figure out how to edit my profile after it was published. I do well on most technology but this one has me stumped. Hopefully, Justin will be able to get me up to speed on that.

Ever since Covid, remote communication has become a way of life for many people. I feel very comfortable using these tools.
