I too would like to thank Natloh2 and Hot Dogs for the great time Saturday. Everything was well thought out and well done. The caches were very creative and the cabin was a real treat. I can’t wait to see what CTTS part 2 will be like. (wondering if they can find an even taller hill?) Thanks again for the memorable event!

Congratulations, Congratulations, Congratulations, and Congratualtions! 4 teams hitting the milestone, all at the same event, is pretty impressive for sure. The WGA definitely has members with a great sense of community. Keep up the good work everyone, and we’ll see you at the next event.

We have collected only 27 of the tagged critters to date. We also feel the responsibilty to move them as soon as possible. Pat likes to keep track of all of them, which keeps our inbox quite full of notices. Awhile back we were reading a log by a newbie who said he had found a couple TB’s and then said, “I think I’m going to start a collection of these.” First degree Bugnapping! I’m sure he recieved some e-mails about the error of his ways. Anybody have any favorites that they would like to share? Mine was a stuffed Hiking Mickey Mouse with a backpack on his back, that was used to carry trade items for the next finder. Sort of a cache within a cache.

Way to go Jeff! Guess the big thousand is right around the corner now. Figuratively of course, literally more like around the corners of the state. Congratulations and Kudos.

Our sister-in-law stumbled across a link to Geocaching.com while searching a weight loss site. Since both my brother and I both already owned GPS’rs (he for fishing, me for both fishing and hunting) she thought it might be something we would be interested in. My years in the service provided me with a background of map reading and I’ve always had thing for maps. I had an extensive collection of topo maps during my service years and even taught map reading and navigation. When I saw my first GPSr I knew I just had to have one. My decision was justified during a duck hunting trip with a neighbor to the upper mississippi. We were caught miles from the landing with a thick heavy fog that came out of nowhere and dusk approching. To say it saved our lives would be a stretch, but it did keep us from spending a cold miserable night out on the river. He was so impressed, the next week my neighbor went out and bought his own. I still haven’t been able to talk him into caching….yet! Cold? I guess around 20 below would be my cut off. The snowcover would be more of a concern, both in finding the cache and leading muggles to it.

Congrats whitnallgps. Just one question, why did it take so long to join us? But we’re always glad to welcome another member into our ranks. How on earth did you find 100 bugs with only 100 finds? Thats pretty impressive. Oops, guess thats two questions. Again congratulations and welcome to the group.

I’ve just discovered the same dilemma on my first cache. With 7 micros for legs, it leaves plenty of opportunities for unintential adjustment. Keeping a watch on the logs I learned of one being found laying in the open. I’m sure we’ve all encountered that situation at on time or another. Going out the next day to check on everything I found that four of them were moved to some degree or another. One of my thoughts is to use a fixed wire holder that they can sit in, which may remedy this problem. Recently I saw an ammo box that was attached to a tree with a steel cable to prevent it from being stolen, but it also serves to keep it where intended. Just my $.02
