The park access fee is acceptable; a map fee? Not acceptable for a cache.
Maybe make your own map, downloadable from the cache page.

No- many cachers would not. But that does not mean they shouldn’t.
If you can make a cache that will teach cachers about different map & waypoint formats, that would be great. The challenge is teaching them more than just how to push a couple buttons on their GPSr to change formats. Anybody can push buttons. Understanding the differences and the reasoning behind the different formats should be common knowledge for anyone interested in cartography, orienteering, geocaching, or any kind of wilderness treking.
There is no such thing as “too difficult”. Lapham Peak is a great park; the 02′ WGA Picnic was there.
Work closely with the park supervisor in the creation of such a cache. Our future depends on maintaining a good relationship with the DNR staff.
One option would be to see if there is a USB cradle available for your PDA. They have been standard equipment since about 98′.
The other option is to get a USB to serial adapter.
This all assumes your PC has USB.

Is it possible to get some of the unlock codes?
Sorry, this offer was made to a known caching friend, not the general public.

Having to drive in IL every day, I can say that it is “those kinds of bears” that I would often love to use the bear spray on.
We need to know what kind of PDA you have. If it’s a Palm or Handspring you can download from here- http://www.palmone.com/us/support/downloads/win_desktop.html
I spotted several hunters out yesterday. It’s pretty easy to walk right by a bow hunter and never notice they are there. Even seen a couple wearing “I’m not a deer” orange, which suprised me.
Leave your Rudolph antler hat at home for a few more weeks.
The problem you had with you screen is notorious to Garmin’s Etrex units. The cause of the fault is a poor connection in a ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the main board. I have repaired a couple of them with good results. If you want instructions, send me an e-mail & I can sent you some info back.
Garmin’s customer service is known to be very good. Last I knew, even out-of-warranty units with problems were being exchanged for $100.
But GPS City would make a bundle if it could sell original Wizbit multi’s and JThorson logs.

That would be unsolicited advertising- against forum policy.
On the ninth day of Christmas Geocaching brought to me-
9 Wizbit multi’s
8 travel bugs
7 logs from JThorson
6 confused newbies
5 ammo boxes
4 magnetic cases
3 trilight titanium key chains
2 topo downloads
and 1 new GPSRquote:

Thinking outside the box…. well done!
You have to update Mapsource to the beta version 9.5 to save in GPX format.
A hearty HO HO HO to a couple of Wisconsin’s favorite cachers!
Braving the cold with the limited cover at Bong is a sure way to make 1K a milestone to remember.
Congratulations!!!!
