Beast, you know darn well there was only one teacher in your schoolhouse.
I didn’t have a pen but found an old business card in my wallet to substitute for signing the log. I know as least 2 others that attempted to sign using some variation of a stick and mud. I already have my coupon in the mail. Last year, several first finders got new gps units, and some of the non-first finders that mailed in their coupon got a Magellan hat. It will be interesting to see what every one gets this year.
Congratulations Uncle Fun!!
I had not even looked at the website until Thurs night. This morning, the coords were posted.
After hunting for a while, I took a hint from a passerby on the trail which pointed me back to the spot I already checked. DOH! A few feet from where I already checked. I was the 5th finder at about 10a.m.
Great to see all the WGA members making their mark on this great event!
There is nothing I would enjoy more than seeing a couple new Cachecows hides out there!
You work on planning the new caches Alan, and you will be better in no time!
My experience is that more often than not, you will not get WAAS reception in the woods.
If you view the satellite screen on a Garmin GPSr, satellites appearing as numbers higher than 32 are actually referencing the satellites that provide WAAS corrections. I believe numbers 35 and 47 are the only ones that can be recieved in the U.S.
A Garmin unit uses one or two of it’s channels strictly for hunting WAAS data. I keep WAAS turned OFF on my unit, as not only do I very seldomly get reception, but it also seems to greatly improve battery life.
Regardless, I would tend to believe that the improvements and added functions of the newer units would make replacing yours a popular decision.
It’s amazing to think that several of our members have 1,000 more finds than most of the cachers in the state!
Ecorangers, if you don’t hunt another cache all school year, a couple of our members may catch up to you………..
you ROCK!!
It is apparent that Ken did not commit said crimes, as the hat obviously does not fit.
So….. why did they stop you??
Way to go Bobcat!! Great to see the northern cachers gettin’ down & dirty.
Welcome back Mubbles! We should see you at 200 in a few weeks then? Congratulations!
Not only is 200 a great accomplishment for the area, but you have been lucky enough to hunt some of the most beautiful areas in WI! Congratulations!
An amazing caching pace! Congratulations on all your finds and thank you for all you have done to promote geocaching in Wisconsin!
